Driving fast around COTA with the McLaren GT4

For you to be fast around COTA with the McLaren 570S GT4 you’ll need to have lots of traction as well as a very strong front-end to be quick in the changes of direction.

In addition to that, you’ll want to run medium downforce in the car as it will help you carry lots of momentum in all the high-speed corners.

Run the front splitter at 0 and the rear wing at 10 and then consider reducing down to 8 to see if you can handle it and perhaps improve your straight line speed without hurting the balance.

In terms of anti-roll bars you’ll want to run pretty soft overall in order to get good mechanical grip and allow you to effortlessly run over the kerbs without losing the car.

For a qualifyng configuration, run aRB 5 on the front and aRB 3 on the rear to generate plenty of traction without also getting too much push-understeer while approaching the apex.

The McLaren GT4 is usually pretty strong in terms of top speed so you’ll want to work quite a lot more on improving the mechanical balance of the car.

Having said that, once you’re setup is good enough, make sure you then spend some days relentlessly practicing and improving your driving.

That will get you faster lap times and pay really good dividends in your sim racing career.
