Driving fast around Watkins Glen with the McLaren 720S GT3

For you to be quick around Watkins Glen with the McLaren 720S GT3 you’ll need to have plenty of traction as well as good rotation on the front to be quick in the changes of direction, like in the slow chicane after the back staight.

In addition to that, you’ll always want to run medium downforce here as it will help you carry lots of momentum in all the medium speed corners.

Run the front splitter at 0 and the rear wing at 4 and then consider going up to 6 to see if you can improve your lap times without hurting the speed too much.

In terms of anti roll bars you’ll want to run quite stiff overall in order to get lots of reactivity from the car as well as front rotation.

For a qualy configuration, if you run aRB 11 on the front and aRB 14 on the rear it should be good enough to generate front grip but without inducing too much oversteer in the car.

The McLaren 720S GT3 is ususally pretty strong in terms of straight line speed so you could focus more on improving the aero balance and mechanical grip.

Having said that, once you’re setup is good enough, make sure you then spend some days relentlessly practicing and improving your driving.

That will get you faster lap times and pay really good dividends in your sim racing career.
