ACC Watkins Glen Setup: Mercedes AMG GT4

Have you been looking around for the fastest GT4 setups in Assetto Corsa Competizione but struggled to find any good one?

We all know how essential having an efficient car setup in ACC is, especially in such a challenging track like Watkins Glen.

This circuit has been recently introduced from the American Track DLC together with Indianapolis and COTA, bringing a whole new challenge for sim racers.

All its medium-to-low-speed corners are pretty unforgiving and will require the car to be really efficient both in terms of aerodynamics and mechanical grip.

We’ve put together a setup guide that will surely help you get your Mercedes AMG GT4 around Watkins Glen quicker than ever before.

Driving fast around Watkins Glen with the Mercedes GT4

For you to be fast around Watkins Glen with the Mercedes AMG GT4 you’ll want to have lots of traction as well as a very strong front to be quick in the changes of direction.

In addition to that, you’ll want to run medium-to-high downforce as it will help you carry lots of speed in all the high-speed corners.

Set the front splitter at 0 and the rear wing at 13 and then consider bringing it down to 10 to see if you can handle it and perhaps maximize your top speed without hurting the rear grip.

In terms of anti-roll bars you’ll want to run quite soft overall in order to get a good amount of mechanical grip and allow you to easily jump over the kerbs without losing the car.

For a qualy configuration, run aRB 4 on the front and aRB 2 on the rear to generate lots of traction without also getting too much push-understeer by the apex.

The Mercedes AMG GT4 is usually pretty good in terms of mechanical grip so you could focus more on improving the aero balance from the car.

Having said that, once you’re setup is good enough, make sure you then spend some days relentlessly practicing and improving your driving technique.

That will get you faster lap times and pay really good dividends in your sim racing career.
