So I guess you’ve probably been looking for the latest and best setups in ACC around Monza but struggled to find any good one?
We all know how essential having a great car setup in Assetto Corsa Competizione is, especially in such a high technical track as Monza.
In fact, this track doesn’t forgive you when it comes to making mistakes.
I know so many beginner sim racers believe that being fast in Monza should be really easy since there’s like only 7 real corners, but here’s what they don’t realize.
They don’t consider the fact that having fewer corners means that each potential mistake is greatly emphasized thus making you slower overall.
For example, in a track like Budapest where you’ve got 15 corners or so, if you make a mistake in a corner, the next will come very quickly and so you’ll be able to “make up” the lost time immediately.
Whereas Monza is unforgiving and will require your absolute driving skills and precision to succeed around here.
Driving fast around Monza with a BMW M4 GT3
So first things first, make sure you’re really really efficient under braking.
That goes for Variante 1, Variante 2, Ascari and the last corner.
If you’re braking is on point then 50% of the job is done.
You’ll want to smash the left foot on the brake, trail brake it nicely into the apex and aggressively use the gear downshift to slow down the car ASAP.
Next, you’ll always want to position the car well for getting good exits, especially in the chicanes, and so exit speed is 10x more important than minimum speed.
