So I guess you’ve probably been looking for the latest and best setups in iRacing around COTA but struggled to find any good one?
We all know how essential having a strong car setup in iRacing is, especially in a track such as Austin.
In sectors and 1 and you can really make a big difference with your driving, but if the setup isn’t quite right, then you’ll unlikely end up P1 at the end of the race.
You’ll have lots of aerodynamics to help you support the high-speed section through enough speed in the straights to win some time in the back straight unless you want to be a sitting duck. 😉
Driving fast around COTA with a Mercedes AMG GT3
The key to being fast here is by braking deep into the slow speed corners, and then getting good exits after having hooked the apex.
Of course, if you struggle to make the apex at first, you will struggle even more to open up the steering and to get on the power.
In that case your exits will severely suffer but you don’t want that.
So make sure the car isn’t too understeery and that you then work on hitting the apexes time and time again.
