Stopping fueling during a pit stop in iRacing can be crucial for minimizing time spent in the pits and optimizing race strategy.

Whether you’ve miscalculated your fuel needs or need to make a quick adjustment during a race, knowing how to stop fueling efficiently can make a significant difference in your overall race performance.

Step 1: Enter the Pit Lane

The first step in stopping fueling during a pit stop in iRacing is to enter the pit lane when approaching the designated pit entry zone on the track.

Slow down and follow the pit lane entry markers, adhering to the designated speed limit to avoid penalties.

As you enter the pit lane, prepare to make any necessary adjustments to your pit stop strategy, including stopping fueling if needed.

Step 2: Navigate to the Pit Menu

Once you’ve entered the pit lane, navigate to the pit menu interface in iRacing to access the options for adjusting your pit stop settings.

Use the designated controls or keyboard shortcuts to open the pit menu while maintaining control of your car as you navigate through the pit lane.

The pit menu allows you to make various adjustments to your pit stop strategy, including stopping fueling if desired.

Step 3: Stop Fueling Option

Within the pit menu interface, locate the option to stop fueling during your pit stop. Depending on the specific pit menu layout and customization options in iRacing, the stop fueling option may be represented by a checkbox, toggle switch, or other graphical element.

Select or activate the stop fueling option to instruct the pit crew to cease refueling your car during the pit stop.

Step 4: Confirm Selection

After selecting the stop fueling option in the pit menu, confirm your selection to ensure that the pit crew receives the instruction to cease refueling your car.

Review your pit stop settings and ensure that all adjustments, including stopping fueling, are accurately reflected before proceeding with the pit stop.

Double-check your selection to avoid any errors or misunderstandings that could impact your race performance.

Step 5: Complete Pit Stop

Once you’ve confirmed the stop fueling option in the pit menu, continue navigating through the pit lane and approach your designated pit box for the pit crew to service your car.

As the pit crew completes the necessary tasks, including tire changes and repairs, ensure that the stop fueling instruction is followed, and fueling is ceased accordingly.

Maintain control of your car and be prepared to exit the pit lane promptly once the pit stop is complete.

Step 6: Monitor Fuel Levels

After exiting the pit lane and resuming racing on the track, monitor your fuel levels closely to ensure that the stop fueling instruction was executed correctly and that your car has the appropriate amount of fuel to complete the race.

Use in-car displays, telemetry data, or HUD elements to track your fuel consumption and adjust your driving strategy accordingly to manage your fuel reserves effectively.

Step 7: Adjust Race Strategy

With fueling stopped during your pit stop, adjust your race strategy as needed to compensate for any changes in fuel levels or consumption.

Consider the impact of stopping fueling on your overall race plan and adjust your approach accordingly, taking into account factors such as track position, competitor strategies, and remaining race distance.

Adapt to changing conditions on the track and make strategic decisions to optimize your performance and race outcomes.

Step 8: Practice and Refinement

As with any aspect of racing in iRacing, mastering the technique of stopping fueling during pit stops requires practice and refinement.

Experiment with different pit stop strategies, practice executing stop fueling instructions efficiently, and analyze the impact on your race performance.

Continuously refine your skills and techniques through practice sessions, races, and competitive events to become proficient in managing pit stops and optimizing race strategy in iRacing.
