iRacing, a popular online motorsport simulation, provides an immersive racing experience. Part of this experience involves viewing and analyzing replays.

Replays (*.rpy files) are often shared in forum areas or included with setup files downloadable from various sources. To enhance your iRacing experience, understanding how to view these replay files is essential.

Step 1: Saving Replay Files

Firstly, to view replay files that people post in forum areas or that come with setup files from other sources, you need to save these .rpy files.

The destination for these files is your Documents folder, specifically under iRacing/replay. Ensure you navigate to this exact path and save the .rpy files here for easy access later.

Step 2: Accessing Replays via iRacing UI

Once the replay files are in the correct folder, launch the iRacing application. From the iRacing User Interface (UI), select the ‘Replays’ option.

This page will list all of your replays stored in the earlier mentioned folder. Browse through this list to find the replay file you wish to view.

Step 3: Launching the Replay

Adjacent to the replay file of your choice, you will see a green ‘Launch’ button. Clicking this button will initiate the replay.

Watch as the recorded race unfolds, allowing you to analyze races, learn from mistakes, or simply relive exciting moments.

Step 4: Using the Members Website for Replay Access

Alternatively, if you prefer using the members’ website via a browser, navigate to members.iracing.com.

Look for the ‘Results & Stats’ section, followed by the ‘My Replays’ option. This route takes you to a similar interface where your replays are listed.

Step 5: Selecting Replay Type

In the replays tab on the website, you’ll find two types of replays: Online Replays and Testing Replays. Online Replays are from official races or sessions you’ve participated in, while Testing Replays are from practice sessions or test drives. Decide which type of replay you are interested in viewing.

Step 6: Launching the Replay from the Website

Once you’ve decided on the type and specific replay, look for the File Name of the replay. Clicking on this name will launch the replay. Ensure you have the necessary software or permissions if prompted.

Viewing replays in iRacing is a straightforward process that enhances your racing strategy and enjoyment. By following these steps, you can easily access, view, and analyze your past performances or enjoy races from others in the iRacing community.

Always ensure your replay files are correctly saved and updated for the best experience. Whether through the UI or the members’ website, entering the world of iRacing replays is just a few clicks away!
