Find the Race

Log in to your iRacing account and navigate to the “Watch/Follow” section. Here, you can see a list of live races or sessions.

Look for the race or session your friend is participating in. This might be easier if you know the exact event name or time they are racing.

Join as a Spectator

Once you’ve located the correct race, click on it to join. You will be given an option to join as a spectator. Select this option, and you’ll be taken to the spectator interface where you can watch the race unfold.

Step 3: Navigating the Spectator Interface

Choose Your View

iRacing’s spectator mode offers various camera angles and views. Experiment with these to find your preferred way of watching the race. You can choose from trackside cameras, cockpit views, or even aerial views.

Focus on Your Friend

To specifically watch your friend, select their car from the list of participants. You can usually find a list or use hotkeys to cycle through drivers until you find your friend. Once selected, the camera will focus on their car for the duration of the race.

Step 4: Enhancing the Experience

Utilize Additional Features

Make use of iRacing’s additional spectator features, such as live timing and scoring, to get a comprehensive view of how your friend is performing relative to the competition.

Communication

Consider using external communication tools like Discord or in-game chat to cheer on your friend or discuss the race with other spectators. This can add a social element to the experience and make it more enjoyable.

By following these steps, you can set up and enjoy watching your friends race or practice in iRacing. Whether for learning purposes, entertainment, or support, spectating races is a valuable feature that enhances the community aspect of iRacing.
