RENNSPORT update 1.2.18 is the Hypercar Expansion Pack patch. It went live on Friday 23 October 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It adds four paid Hypercars, doubles online grids to 24 cars, allows 60 minute races and, on PC, sends telemetry straight to SimHub.

It is the third big content patch of the 1.2 series this year, after Endurance Classics in May and Kings of the Ring in September. My older RENNSPORT pages, like the beta 1.7 patch, cover the game before its full release. This one covers where it stands now.

Checked on 29 October 2026 against RENNSPORT's own patch notes for 1.2.4, 1.2.15 and 1.2.18 and its multiplayer stability post of 24 October, all on rennsport.gg.

The four Hypercars

The Valkyrie, the SC63, the TR010 and the Genesis are all current or recent Le Mans Hypercar cars, and they go into RENNSPORT as a paid pack. RENNSPORT's notes do not say the price, so check the store on your platform.

What the notes do say is that the whole Hypercar class got a new tyre model and a rework of power, aero, setups and balance. That matters more than the four names. A Hypercar grid only works if the cars are close, and Balance of Performance is how the real championship keeps them close too.

There is one known bug: on the Lamborghini SC63 the driving line reflects on the windscreen. RENNSPORT's workaround is an outside camera or turning the driving line off. I would turn the line off anyway. You learn a track faster without it.

24 car grids and 60 minute races

This is the change I like most, and it is free. Online and in Custom Contests, grids go from 12 to 24 drivers and sessions from 30 to 60 minutes.

Twelve cars is a sprint race with gaps. Twenty-four cars is traffic, and traffic is where you learn racecraft: where to pass, how to defend without losing the car behind you, when to give a place back. Sixty minutes means tyre wear and fuel start to matter. Prototypes need that length. A 20 minute Hypercar race is a qualifying lap with company.

SimHub on PC

RENNSPORT now sends its telemetry to SimHub natively, at high frequency. Before, you needed a workaround. You need the latest SimHub version, and it only works on PC.

That opens dashboards, shift lights, bass shakers and the rest of what SimHub drives. If you have never set it up, my SimHub beginner guide covers it.

Still broken: online disconnects

On 24 October RENNSPORT said players were being dropped from online races after the Hypercar launch, sometimes with a crash. The cause is an error in the session handshake, so the server refuses the connection. RENNSPORT says it is a client bug, not a server one. The fix has to go through internal QA and then approval from Sony and Microsoft before it ships, and RENNSPORT will post a release window once it is in certification.

So if you get kicked from a lobby this week, it is not your connection. On 29 October that hotfix had not been announced as live.

Is it worth going back to RENNSPORT?

If you left in the beta, the game is a lot bigger now: Le Mans, the Nordschleife, Group C, the 919 Evo and now a Hypercar class, on PC and both consoles. The 24 car grids and the SimHub output are real steps.

But be honest about the open problems. The AI is still a work in progress by RENNSPORT's own words, and the online disconnects are not fixed yet. If you want a Hypercar sim today that just works, Le Mans Ultimate is built around exactly that grid. If you already own RENNSPORT, wait for the hotfix, then try a 60 minute race in a full grid. For the cars and tracks in the game, see my RENNSPORT car list and track list.
