The new extension of the much loved AC simulation series, Assetto Corsa Evo has finally been unveiled for the PC and it’s well overdue. The centre of attention however remains whether or not it would make its way over to Xbox.
Assetto Corsa Evo: The Upcoming Section
Kunos Simulazioni will be returning to the series with Assetto Corsa Evo, which is expected to be the direct predecessor of the original Assetto Corsa following the spin off Assetto Corsa Competizione. The major question is when Xbox players may expect to have the it, even though its release on PC is confirmed.
Plans for Release and Anticipations
For the time being though, the summer 2024 PC window for Assetto Corsa Evo is confirmed. It has been confirmed by Kunos Simulazioni’s parent company Digital Bros that the game will also be available released on other systems. They have not specified, but many people predict that the soon to be released games include the Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
We can explain some of the patterns found in the previous releases of the titles of the series. As regards to console debut, 18 months after its release on PC, the original Assetto Corsa had its first console foray in August 2016, on Xbox One and PS4. In much the same way, the Assetto Corsa Competizione console versions came a while over a year after the PC version was released. How About the Xbox one?
The concern on the release of Xbox One is a bit more intricate. More than a decade after its launch, high profile games such as the official Formula 1 game have continued to be released for the Xbox One. After being made available on PC, Assetto Corsa Competizione made its foray into Xbox One as well. Apparently, given history, one can assume that Assetto Corsa Evo might be able to do the same. But this new game might be a little too much to for the Xbox One’s old technology.
While both Digital Bros. and Kunos Simulazioni have said nothing about whether an Xbox One version will be made, it doesn’t seem likely given the envisioned skill set needed for the game. It would be an uphill task to create a watered down version for Xbox One and such resources are conserved for strengthening the game on better systems.
The Path Ahead
Ante up and bet those chips, for the fans of Assetto Corsa Evo on Xbox Series X|S appear to getting madder as they are itching for specific information. The game sets common features aiming to leverage the success of its predecessors and expand on it. At this point, Xbox users will need to be patient for now and wait for official updates on the timeline of the game’s release.
In the meantime, the racing genre can expect developments with Assetto Corsa Evo and possibly more enhancements to simulation racing. Sometime in the summer of 2024, the PC version is going to be published and so explanation on the console releases will probably come up so that players know what to expect.
Even though no one knows the exact date of the Xbox release for Assetto Corsa Evo, it doesn’t hold back the fans looking forward to it’s high chances of arriving on Series X|S systems. There is every reason to believe that sim racing fans will have some great times in the coming years considering the latest developments in the prestigious simulator racing franchise. All in all, Assetto Corsa Evo is likely going to take racing simulations to limits never thought possible. Be it the impressive car handling, large collection of vehicles, and quite immersive racing tracks; fans, have a lot to be excited about. The zeal and spirit of the community would definitely be met with a product which is designed not only to meet but to surpass the aspirations of the customers and rule the market.
