Yes, BeamNG.drive is coming to PS5. BeamNG has confirmed that it launches on PS5 in Early Access on 19 October 2026, and the PlayStation Store has it at 14:00 UTC that day. There is no Xbox version announced.
I have not played the PS5 version. Nobody outside the press has yet. So this page is what BeamNG and the stores publish, and where they say nothing, I say that too.
Checked on 15 October 2026 against BeamNG's news posts of 28 May, 29 July and 24 September 2026, the BeamNG Game FAQ, the PlayStation Blog post of 28 May 2026, the US PlayStation Store page, the US Steam store page and a search of the Xbox store. Where a detail only appears in BeamNG's press release as printed by Gematsu on 24 September, I say so.

BeamNG.drive PS5 release date
| Milestone | Date |
|---|---|
| PC Early Access on Steam | 29 May 2015 |
| PS5 version announced | 28 May 2026, on the BeamNG site and the PlayStation Blog |
| PS5 still "later this year", no date | 29 July 2026, in the v0.39 release post |
| PS5 date announced | 24 September 2026 |
| PS5 Early Access launch | 19 October 2026, 14:00 UTC on the PlayStation Store |
| PC version 0.40 | "Around that date too", per BeamNG |
The announcement came from Thomas Fischer, BeamNG's CEO, on the PlayStation Blog. In July BeamNG still would not give a date, because console publishing was a new process for the team. Two months later it named 19 October.
14:00 UTC is 15:00 in London, 16:00 in central Europe and 10:00 on the US East Coast.
Is it Early Access on PS5 too?
Yes. The PlayStation Store says BeamNG.drive "is releasing in Early Access on PlayStation", meaning the game is still in development and keeps changing as the team works on it. That matches PC, where it has been in Early Access since 2015 and is still on version 0.x.
So treat it like the PC game. You are buying something that keeps getting updated. BeamNG's press release says free updates come every few months, and on PC that has been true: v0.38 in December 2025, v0.39 in July 2026, v0.40 due now.
How much will BeamNG.drive cost on PS5?
Nobody knows yet. BeamNG has not announced a PS5 price, and the PlayStation Store page is still a wishlist page. There is no product on it to buy, so there is no price and no edition list.
What I can tell you is the PC price. On Steam BeamNG.drive is $24.99, and BeamNG's FAQ says it has no plans to cut the price or make it free. That does not mean the PS5 price will match. Wait for the store to show it on launch day.
PS5 features: split screen, PS5 Pro and DualSense
From the PlayStation Store page:
- Offline play only. The store marks it offline.
- 1 to 4 players. That is the local player count.
- DualSense. Vibration and trigger effects are supported.
- Controller remapping. Listed as advanced, with stick sensitivity and inversion settings.
- 12 open-world environments, plus Free Roam, Scenarios and Time Trials.
BeamNG's press release (as printed by Gematsu) adds local split screen, FSR 3 upscaling on the base PS5, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) on PS5 Pro, a Career mode, and a new vehicle that is in from day one.
On PS5 Pro, be careful. The press release mentions PSSR, but the PlayStation Store page has no PS5 Pro Enhanced label right now. BeamNG has not published a resolution or a frame rate target for either console.

Mods on PS5
No mods at launch. BeamNG's own words in the date announcement: "VR and mods won't be supported at launch."
It goes further than that. According to the press release, the mod authoring tools, including the World Editor, are not currently planned for PlayStation. BeamNG says it aims for feature parity across platforms "where possible in the long term", but it cannot confirm timing or scope.
This matters more for BeamNG than for any other driving game I can think of. On PC, a big part of why people play it is the mod repository: thousands of cars and maps on top of the official content. On PS5 at launch you get the official vehicles and the 12 official maps, and that is it.
Multiplayer and BeamMP on PS5
There is no online multiplayer on PS5. The store says offline play only.
On PC, people play online through BeamMP, which is a community mod, not something BeamNG makes. No mods on PS5 means no BeamMP on PS5.
BeamNG is building its own official multiplayer. In May 2026 it said development has been going for several years, that it is "still far from what we'd call ready", and that it will ship as an early version and then improve. That post is about PC. BeamNG has said nothing about online play on PS5.
What you do get on PS5 is local play for up to 4 people on one console.
Wheel and controller support on PS5
BeamNG has not published a list of supported wheels for PS5, and the PlayStation Store page does not mention wheels at all. Some early hands-on reports say a wheel worked for them, but that is a single reviewer's setup, not a compatibility list. I will not tell you your wheel works until BeamNG says so.
The controller side is clearer. A big part of the v0.39 UI overhaul on PC was gamepad navigation, which BeamNG admitted "ranged from annoying to virtually impossible" before. The same patch notes added preset controls for PlayStation 4 and 5 pads. BeamNG said in May that the console work on controls and interface would reach PC players too.
If you are buying a wheel for PS5 anyway, my best sim racing wheels for PS5 page is where I would start.
BeamNG.drive PS5 vs PC
| PC (Steam) | PS5 | |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Early Access since 2015 | Early Access from 19 Oct 2026 |
| Price | $24.99 | Not announced |
| Mods | Yes, plus World Editor | No at launch, editor not planned |
| VR | Experimental | No at launch, no PS VR2 |
| Online play | BeamMP mod only | None, offline only |
| Local play | Multiseat | 1 to 4 players, split screen |
| Maps | 12 official plus mods | 12 official |
| Upscaling | Not stated | FSR 3, PSSR on PS5 Pro |
| Updates | Every few months | Same promise from BeamNG |
PC split screen is the odd one. BeamNG's FAQ still says split screen is "not planned at the moment" and lists multiseat as the offline option, which reads as out of date now that the PS5 version has it. BeamNG has not said whether split screen comes to PC in v0.40.
On PC you also need the hardware. Steam asks for at least a Ryzen 5 1600 or Core i5 8400, 16 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 or RX 570 with 6 GB of VRAM. Recommended is a Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7 9700, 32 GB and an RTX 3060 or RX 6700. It needs 60 GB of storage before mods, and Steam lists Windows only. That is a big ask for a $24.99 game, which is part of why a console version makes sense.
Is BeamNG coming to Xbox?
Not announced. BeamNG's FAQ answers the platform question like this: the game is coming to PS5, and BeamNG "cannot confirm whether support for other platforms will be available in future". I searched the Xbox store and BeamNG.drive is not listed.
So there is no Xbox Series X|S version, no date and no hint of one. Nothing is announced for Switch 2 either. If BeamNG adds a platform, it will post it on its news page, and I will update this page.

Should you buy BeamNG.drive on PS5?
If you have no gaming PC, yes, it is the first time you can play it at all, and the soft-body physics are the reason this game exists. BeamNG says the physics run at 2 kHz and every vehicle is a network of nodes and beams that bend and break. If what you want is crash physics and messing about with cars, I know of nothing else like it on PS5.
But know what you are giving up. No mods, no online play, no VR, and no wheel list. On PC, mods are half the game. If you already have a PC that meets the spec, the PC version is the better BeamNG today, and the price is known.
My advice: wait for launch day. Check the price, and read the first player reviews. A $24.99 game on PC with no mods on console should not cost more on PS5, and until the store shows a number, nobody can tell you if it is worth it.
If you are on PC and want crashes in a proper racing game, Wreckfest 2 is the other one to look at.
