Now it’s time to level up your sim racing and gear up with top-notch pedals while considering what the best available options are on the market.
You must have heard other people and even myself speaking on load cell technology and how the best sim racing pedals are either load cell or hydraulic.
Load cell pedals are a great investment for a large majority of the racing community and can be an extremely useful upgrade not only to the pedals but the entire setup.
However, there are just so many pedals out there so what makes one the best one for you?
Well for a start, there are a few features that each pedal has that makes it unique, and in this article, I will explain how you may be able to find out which one works best for you.
In this section, I will put in perspective the Fanatec ClubSport V3 and its load cell pedals.
Table of Contents
What’s the material?
Similarly to the ClubSport V2, the V3 version comes laser cut from a piece of aluminum.
Construction Like so enables the pedals to be resistant to scratches and gives them a strong solid feel.
With that being said the fabric of the pedals enable them not only to be strong but visually appealing as well.
Are they adjustable and easy to adjust?
These pedals do come with height adjusments, have a thread diameter of 20mm or 30mm3 and what is postively empowering is they are quite adjustable.
The usual slider that shifts both the inclination angle and the distance between the pedals is positioned at the bottom of the pedal as well.
The reason why I rated this as “yes” is because they actually offer more adjustability than their predecessor; ClubSport Pedals V2.
Are they compatible for iRacing and Assetto Corsa?
Yes, the Fanatec ClubSport V3 pedals are designed to work with both iRacing and Assetto Corsa titles.
That’s great because they can be used on the Playstation and Xbox too thereby giving you options in terms of what sim racing software and device to use alongside it.
How are the pedals connected?
The pedals are connected to your PC, Playstation, or Xbox via USB ports. These pedals are connected through one wire which the length allows you to position them in front of your sim racing setup without issues.
Are they Compatible for PC?
Fanatec ClubSport V3 pedals can be used on PC Xbox and both PS4 and PS5 consoles.
That is good to know since you can now use them without any problems on your current sim racing setup, No need to replace everything just to switch to load cell pedals.
Are they easy to use?
The pedals are pretty much plug and play like every other piece of hardware Fanatec has designed.
There is only one wire that connects naked cables with the parts to be interfaced tablets, personal computers or gaming consoles, and all you need to do is plug it in.
After the connection is made, the pedals will become one of the devices registered on the system of the device and start functioning without any extra configuration.
What’s included in the box?
One can expect to find the pedals, USB wire along with an Allen key and other tools which can be useful in adjusting the inclination of Fanatec ClubSport V3 pedals.
Will they make me faster?
There is no universal answer since the pedals are not going to go and turn you into a professional without the required effort but they will assist you in doing so.
However, they will surely help you in bringing down the time taken to cover each lap as well as enhance the way you perform in sim racing hence the likelihood of you becoming faster on the track will also be increased significantly.
Are they durable?
As a rule of thumb Fanatec pedals are designed to withstand the test of time. Most of its components consist of aluminum frame which is constructed in bulk.
This enables them to look and feel very good while being protected from scratches or any other forms of damage.
These pedals should survive you for years without giving you any problems.
How much do they cost?
The pedals have been listed on their site for about 400 dollars approximately.
They are not as inexpensive as the Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals but they are certainly way cheaper than any other hydraulic pedals around.
This means that you can a very good bargain out of it.
Bottom line:
That’s all from my side in regard to Fanatec V3 pedals.
I think they’re certainly worth having a look since they can make you a quicker sim driver without costing a fortune.
