You’ll also want to make sure that all of the assists are set properly so that you won’t struggle to keep your car on the track.

Those assists include ABS, traction control, driving line, shifting and so on.

Having said that, even though we realize that everyone’s skill level and preferences are different, we still believe that there’s a nice sweet spot where everyone could benefit from very similar settings.

That’s why we’ve put together a list of the best Forza Horizon 5 difficulty settings for you to try out.

How do you change difficulty settings in FH4?

For you to change the FH4 difficulty settings, you’ll have to head over to “Settings” and then select “Difficulty”.

How do you change difficulty settings in FH4?

From there you’ll now able to configure all the difficulty settings from the game.

What are the best FH4 difficulty settings?

The best difficulty settings for Forza Horizon 4 are:

  • Drivatar difficulty = Highly skilled
  • Driving assist preset = Custom
  • Braking = ABS On
  • Steering = Normal
  • Traction control = Off (“On” if you tend to spin very often)
  • Stability control = Off
  • Shifting = Manual (“Automatic” if you really don’t like shifting gears)
  • Driving line = Braking only
  • Damage & tire wear = None
  • Rewind = On

As you can see there are quite a few things to consider when it comes to setting the difficulty in Forza Horizon 4.

Let’s now have a quick look into what each of these represents.

Drivatar difficulty = Highly skilled

This is perhaps the most important setting of all as it determines how good the AI opponents are going to be.

As you can see, we recommend setting it to “Highly skilled” as this will give you the best racing experience.

Drivatar difficulty = Highly skilled

Of course, if you find that too difficult, you can always lower it down all the way down.

Braking = ABS On

This is an assist that GT3 cars already have to avoid locking the tyres while braking hard and turning the steering.

As such, we recommend keeping this on as it makes the game more realistic and your lap times will be also much better.

Steering = Normal

We believe that the steering assist set to “Normal” provides the most realistic experience since it won’t give you any extra aid as in reality.

Of course, feel free to change this as you see fit.

Traction control = Off

This is another assist that we recommend keeping off as it will make the game more challenging and realistic.

However, if you find yourself spinning a lot, you can always turn it on to make things easier.

Stability control = Off

This is an assist that helps you keep the car stable while cornering at high speeds.

However, we recommend keeping this off as it takes away some of the realism and challenge of the game.

Shifting = Manual

This setting is pretty straightforward and we recommend keeping it at “Manual” unless you really don’t like shifting gears.

Driving line = Braking only

The driving line is an overlay on the track that shows you when to brake and turn.

Driving line = Braking only

We recommend setting it to “Braking only” as this will give you the most information without being too intrusive.

Conclusion

So here was a list of what we believe to be the best Forza Horizon 4 difficulty settings.

Of course, feel free to change them so that they better suit your own racing and driving style.

We hope that this article was helpful and informative.

Until next time, happy sim racing!
