Following the release of GT7 back in March 2022, there have been arguments among sim racing enthusiasts with respect to which game is superior; Assetto Corsa Competizione or Gran Turismo 7.

Both games have their +’s and -‘s making it difficult to choose, which racing game is good enough for you.

In this article, we are going to examine these two games and how they differ from each other.

We aim to provide answers to the question as to which of these racing games is more appropriate through looking at the following factors:

  • The feel of driving
  • Number of cars and tracks provided
  • Quality of graphics
  • Physics of cars
  • System Requirements
  • Availability of laser scans of tracks
  • Prices and Download

Therefore, let us start with our detailed comparative study as follows.

How realistic is it to drive?

What is the Driving About Guide? Finding a more portable calm aspect of the greatest of experiences Although a skill employed in fullest extent most probably only by real GT3 drivers may be a daily deal in most of the cases. Perhaps the most of them practice in software called Assetto Corsa Competizione.

How realistic is it to drive

Bearing in mind, it is crystal clear that Assetto Corsa Competizione is built for the customers who love driving and it is a very realistic and true to life driving game.

Conclusion: As with any combat rhythm racing games over the years it is more than easy to arrive at the assessment that so far ACC is still perhaps, an even, or the best yet, all round sim from what a realistic driving experience can be thought of. Such as its handling, sound, force feedback, grip of the car, tyres and many more compromise probably, it would be unreasonable to hope to find.

Variety of cars and tracks

Although Assetto Corsa Competizione does not offer the most cars and race tracks option. DS mostly the best when it comes to GT3 and GT racing.

There are a total of 43 variety of cars that are able for racing on 18 track of the GT3 level.

Moreover, Gran Turismo 7 even gives out over 520 cars of dozens of manufacturers worldwide.

In brief, the details and specifications of the cars in Gran Turismo 7 are quite impressive, however, some improvement is necessary so that the game is even more realistic focusing on the car’s physics and how to work with the car.

If it comes to the tracks, 35 venues with total of 25 additional different layouts are available for you to race.

Graphics quality

Another outstanding racing simulator also called Gran Turismo 7 – has been available since March 2022.

Graphics quality

Despite being known as more of a game rather than a racing simulator, its developing company Gran Turismo 7 nevertheless strives towards a true racing simulator engine in their product development.

Use of these correlated sources, the software boasts outdone physic rendering!

Car handling

Assetto Corsa Competizione lacks the most vehicles and race tracks option, but if it comes to the GT3 and GT4 races, then this is surely the best racing game.

out of them, there 43 different kinds of the cars you can race on 18 GT30 different tracks.

Car handling

Whereas Gran Turismo 7 on the other hand has more than 520 vehicle models manufactured in the US and not limited to the United states.

On the contrary, I believe the car driver physics in Gran Turismo 7 is very ill compared to that of the ACC, mainly beacause it is very hard to feel the grip of the tires and you cannot even comprehend when the car would be understeering or oversteering or drifting.

Of course, it is relatively simple to adjust to such a position, and that is the reason why we strongly suggest getting Gran Turismo 7 for the very starting players who only want to enjoy the racing simulator and not play for hours.

Compatibility (PC, Xbox, Playstation)

As you may already be familiar, Assetto Corsa Competizione is available for personal computers and Xbox and Playstation consoles which means one can play it all all devices that one owns but normally, gaming on PC offers better performance due to better graphic cards.

With that in perspective, gaming with the consoles is worth the effort especially for racing titles such as Gran Turismo 7 that has only been released on the PS4 and PS5 platforms.

In fact, in particular, for the Playstation users, we urge them to try Gran Turismo 7 since it is literally one of the best games for racing on the Playstation console.

FOV (Field of view)

FOV is one of the parameters that will influence to a large extent the feeling of immersion that you will experience while playing the racing game.

As it is typical of almost all the contemporary racing video games, one has the option to change the FOV, from the settings menu.

As for ACC and Gran Turismo 7, we think that default settings provide more than acceptable FOV for both of the games and this is not something that you have to alter too much.

Having said that, do try and have a look at our new FOV calculator which is now available for free!

Are tracks laser scanned?

Are tracks surveyed using laser technology?

One will not notice any impact on their racing performance, but rather it will become very important, in the eyes of the sim racers, to be on point in sim racing games.

Are tracks laser scanned

Real race tracks are featured in the majority of the race tracks presented in this game, Assetto Corsa Competizione.

It is safe to say that the bulk of the circuits are always laser scanned bone by bone and every eadyne of it.

Just like Gran Turismo 7, only a small percentage of the total available tracks in the game World Racing 2 are actual tracks, most of them a few are laser scanned to give users the greatest possible detail from the corners.

There are only a handful of tracks which are fictional and those models are the non-laser scanned ones in Gran Turismo 7.

Online multiplayer

AJR is a racing game which allow you challenge other players in online races.

It’s in fact one of the most popular simulators where in terms of competitors’ ingress, the gamers around the board uses it to gauge their strength against antagonists.

A complete set of the Licensing System is embedded in ACC with which you can enter racing events at the level appropriate to your skills.

Thus, the races are never impossible to win; but nevertheless, they hold some relevancy.

Gran Turismo 7 implements the same practices to ensure that the online racing is always enjoyable and demanding for racers of any skill level, although it is not as competitive and professional as in the case of Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Force Feedback (FFB)

Despite the fact that ACC and Gran Turismo 7 run on different platforms, it is safe to assert that both producers have excelled in the development of an advanced force feedback system.

Force Feedback (FFB)

Quite a number of the drivers would be comfortable racing using the default settings, but in the game seetings, force feedback is more adjustible, and thus, you can make the wheel more ‘heavier’ or more ‘lighter’.

Prices and Downloads

In SteamAssetto Corsa Competizione purchases for USD 39.99 and many additional content packs can be bought for extra charge of USD 57.

This means that if you made a single purchase, the total would be around USD 97 for ACC.

So which one is better for you?

Assetto Corsa Competizione and Gran Turismo 7 have their advantages depending on what you want from a sim racing game.

If you want the most immersive experience accompanied with a superb FOV and realistic laser scanned tracks, then ACC is the best option out there.

If on the other hand you seek a mere enjoyable GT enthusiastic online multiplayer experience for all levels of players in which fun and challenge are properly balanced, Gran Turismo 7 is probably a better option.

You would rather enjoy the both of them and find out what works best for you!

As always, happy sim racing!
