Navigating the virtual tracks of iRacing can sometimes lead to encounters with drivers whose behavior may not align with your preferences or expectations.

To tailor your iRacing experience and maintain a positive racing environment, this comprehensive guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of blacklisting and unblacklisting drivers.

Whether you want to avoid certain individuals during races or give someone another chance, these steps will help you curate your online racing experience.

Step 1: Understanding the Blacklisting Feature in iRacing

Step 1: Understanding the Blacklisting Feature in iRacing

Before delving into the steps of blacklisting and unblacklisting, it’s crucial to understand the purpose and functionality of these features in iRacing.

Blacklisting allows you to mark specific drivers, preventing them from joining sessions that you host. It serves as a tool to avoid unwanted interactions or conflicts during races.

Unblacklisting, on the other hand, reverses this action, giving you the flexibility to reassess and potentially race alongside drivers you’ve previously blacklisted.

Step 2: Identifying the Driver to be Blacklisted

The first step in the blacklisting process is identifying the driver whose behavior or actions during races prompt you to take this action.

Whether it’s due to a series of incidents, consistent aggressive driving, or other undesirable behavior, pinpoint the driver’s username or iRacing ID. This information is essential for effectively implementing the blacklisting feature in iRacing.

Step 3: Accessing the iRacing Membersite

To manage your blacklist and unblacklist settings, access the iRacing Membersite using your account credentials.

Navigate to the “My Account” or “Account Settings” section to find the tools and options related to your iRacing account preferences.

Familiarize yourself with the layout and menu options to streamline the process of blacklisting and unblacklisting drivers.

Step 4: Locating the Blacklist Option

Within the iRacing Membersite, locate the option specifically related to the blacklist feature. This option is typically found in the account settings or preferences section.

Step 4: Locating the Blacklist Option

Click on the relevant tab or link to access the blacklist management tools. Understanding the location of this option is crucial for efficiently implementing your blacklist decisions.

Step 5: Adding the Driver to Your Blacklist

Once you’ve accessed the blacklist management tools, you’ll find an option to add drivers to your blacklist.

Enter the username or iRacing ID of the driver you wish to blacklist. Some iRacing interfaces may allow you to add a brief note or description to provide context for your decision. Confirm the action, and iRacing will update your blacklist settings accordingly.

Step 6: Confirming Blacklist Status

After blacklisting a driver, confirm that the action has been successfully implemented. Check the blacklist section to ensure that the driver’s username or iRacing ID appears in the list.

This confirmation step is essential to verify that your preferences are accurately reflected in the iRacing system, preventing any unintended interactions with blacklisted drivers.

Step 7: Joining Sessions with Blacklist Restrictions

Once you’ve blacklisted a driver, any sessions that you host will automatically restrict the participation of the blacklisted driver.

This restriction ensures that you can enjoy races without the presence of drivers you’ve chosen to avoid. Host your sessions with confidence, knowing that your blacklist settings contribute to a racing environment aligned with your preferences.

Step 8: Reassessing and Unblacklisting Drivers

Over time, your perceptions of certain drivers may change, or they may have improved their behavior on the track. If you wish to give a blacklisted driver another chance, navigate back to the blacklist management tools on the iRacing Membersite.

Step 8: Reassessing and Unblacklisting Drivers

Locate the option to unblacklist drivers and remove the username or iRacing ID from the blacklist. This step allows you to reassess and potentially race alongside drivers you’ve previously blacklisted.

Step 9: Confirming Unblacklist Status

After unblacklisting a driver, confirm that the action has been successfully implemented. Verify that the driver’s username or iRacing ID no longer appears in your blacklist.

This confirmation ensures that your adjustments to the blacklist settings are accurately reflected, allowing the unblacklisted driver to participate in sessions you host.

Step 10: Participating in Sessions with Unblacklisted Drivers

Once a driver has been unblacklisted, they are free to join sessions that you host. Enjoy the flexibility of reassessing and modifying your blacklist decisions based on evolving circumstances or changes in behavior.

Unblacklisting provides a mechanism for second chances and fosters a dynamic online racing environment.
