The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH is the newest top prototype in iRacing. It landed in the 2026 Season 4 build on 9 September 2026, with a 6.5 litre naturally aspirated V12, 670 hp and no hybrid system at all. That last part is what makes it different from every other car in the class.
Checked on 15 October 2026 against the iRacing car page for the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH, the 2026 Season 4 Initial Release Notes for build 2026.09.09.01 (9 September 2026), Hotfix 1 for 2026.09.11.01 (11 September 2026), Patch 1 for 2026.10.01.01 (5 October 2026), iRacing's Development Update for August 2026 (28 August 2026), the Season 3 Week 13 announcement (5 September 2026) and the Season 4 launch article (9 September 2026), plus Aston Martin's own news releases on the real car. Where nobody has published something, I say so.

The Valkyrie in iRacing at a glance
Here is everything iRacing has published about the car, in one place.
| Item | What iRacing says |
|---|---|
| In-game name | Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH |
| Released | 2026 Season 4 build 2026.09.09.01, 9 September 2026 |
| Category on iracing.com | Prototypes |
| Engine | 6.5 litre naturally aspirated V12 |

| Tyres | Dry and wet compounds, rain-ready from launch |
| AI | Yes, one of eight cars added to AI racing in Season 4 |
| Price | $11.95 is iRacing's one-time price for an additional car |
The car page does not give a weight, a torque figure or a gearbox. I left those out instead of guessing.
On price: iRacing's support site says a licence for an additional car costs a one-time $11.95, and iRacing's pricing page adds that Steam buyers typically pay about a dollar more. The Valkyrie's own store page needs a login, so check the number in the app before you pay.
How iRacing built it
In its August 2026 development update, iRacing said it had been working on the Valkyrie for over a year. It said the team refused to shortcut the physics just to hit a date, and that it secured real telemetry and engineering data, real-world chassis data and direct engineering guidance.
That matters to me more than any marketing line. A prototype with this much downforce lives and dies on its aero map and its platform. If the model is built from real chassis data, the habits you learn in it have a better chance of being the right habits.
Since launch, the fixes have been small. Patch 1 (2026.10.01.01) changed the cockpit camera angle, renamed the "Headlight Color ID" garage label to "ID light color" and calmed the pit speed warning that flashed on the dash while on the limiter. Hotfix 1 did not touch the car. No Balance of Performance change for the Valkyrie appears in any Season 4 release note so far.
The real car, briefly
Aston Martin and The Heart of Racing developed the race car from the Valkyrie road car. Aston Martin calls it the only car in the WEC top class derived from a road-legal hypercar, and the only Hypercar racing in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA.
The engine is a modified lean-burn version of the Cosworth-developed 6.5 litre V12. Aston Martin says it revs to 11,000 rpm and that the rules hold it to 500 kW (680 bhp).
The record so far:
- February 2025: global debut at the Qatar 1812km in the WEC.
- June 2025: both cars finished the Le Mans 24 Hours, 12th and 14th.
- October 2025: second overall at Petit Le Mans with the #23 car of Ross Gunn, Roman De Angelis and Alex Riberas. Aston Martin calls it the car's first podium anywhere.
- 2026: the #007 and #009 cars run in the WEC with an unchanged line-up, and the #23 Aston Martin THOR Team car runs in IMSA GTP.
iRacing's own car page tells the same story: a competitive debut in Qatar in 2025 and a first IMSA podium at Petit Le Mans to close that year.
LMH vs LMDh: what is actually different
This is where most people get confused, so let me keep it to the official rules.
The Porsche 963, BMW M Hybrid V8 Evo, Cadillac V-Series.R and Acura ARX-06 are LMDh cars. Under those rules each manufacturer builds its engine and bodywork on a chassis from one of four approved builders: Dallara, Ligier, Multimatic or ORECA. They all share the same hybrid kit: a Bosch motor generator unit, an Xtrac gearbox and a WAE battery.
The Valkyrie and the Ferrari 499P are LMH cars, Le Mans Hypercars. The manufacturer designs the whole car to a different technical rulebook. Since the convergence agreement between IMSA, the ACO and the FIA, both types race together for the overall win in IMSA GTP and the WEC Hypercar class, with Balance of Performance keeping them level.
| Valkyrie AMR-LMH | The four LMDh cars | Ferrari 499P | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rulebook | LMH | LMDh | LMH |
| Chassis | Aston Martin's own | One of four approved builders | Ferrari's own |
| Engine | 6.5 litre V12, naturally aspirated | Each brand's own turbo engine | Twin-turbo V6 |
| Hybrid in iRacing | None | Spec Bosch hybrid | Yes |
| Power quoted by iRacing | 670 hp | 671 bhp for the Porsche 963 | 671 hp |
In the sim, the practical gap is the hybrid. Every other top prototype has deployment and regen to manage, and I wrote a whole iRacing hybrid system guide because it confuses so many people. The Valkyrie has none of that. What you get at the throttle is the V12 and nothing else.
What it feels like next to a Porsche 963 lap after lap, I am not going to describe from a spec sheet. iRacing calls it a mix of raw V12 power, extreme downforce and intricate chassis dynamics, and says it is demanding. That is their word, and it is the honest place to start.
Where you can race the Valkyrie
The short answer: iRacing has already raced it as a GTP car in one official event, but I could not read the Season 4 series car lists, so check the app.
What is published:
- The iTested event in Season 3 Week 13, the week the build landed, grew to 17 cars "with the addition of the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH to the existing GTP, LMP2, and GT3 groupings." The announcement does not say which group it ran in.
- The IMSA iRacing Series page describes "a mixed class series featuring GTP, LMP2 and GT3/GTD cars" but lists no individual cars.
- iRacing's Petit Le Mans special event page (event 25 to 27 September 2026) lists the Valkyrie in the "GTP/HY" class, alongside the other five GTP cars, the Dallara P217 and ten GT3 cars.
- The official Season 4 schedule PDF, which lists the cars per series, sits behind the member login. Third-party copies of iRacing's season data list the Valkyrie in the IMSA iRacing Series too, but that is not an iRacing page.
- The car is AI-enabled, so you can race it offline against AI drivers. iRacing's AI support page warns that not every car and track combination is available, so check the list.
So the Valkyrie runs as a GTP car in iRacing, at least at Petit Le Mans, and the third-party season data puts it in the IMSA iRacing Series too. What I cannot show you is an iRacing page with this season's series car list. Open the series in the app, look at the car list and the class it sits in, and only then pay. I gave the same advice for the Ferrari 499P in my best iRacing GTP cars ranking.
If it does run in a multiclass series for you, read up on how the multiclass start procedure works before your first race.
How I would approach the setup
These are general principles, my advice, not numbers. iRacing has not published Valkyrie setup values in its public notes, and I am not going to invent any.
- Start from the default setup the car loads with. Do ten clean laps on it before you change anything. You need a reference.
- One change at a time. With this much downforce, a ride height or rake change moves the aero balance. Change one thing, do a run, write it down.
- Use your saved hybrid time for tyres and fuel. With no deployment or regen to manage, look at the tyre temperatures and fuel use every stint instead.
- Treat the throttle as engine only. There is no electric motor in the delivery, so the way the rear reacts on exit is down to the V12, your right foot and the setup. Build the exit before you chase corner entry.
- Wet is a separate setup. The car has wet tyres, so save a wet baseline before a rain race instead of building one in practice.
