  1. Brake later and harder than anyone
  2. Use all the track and kerbs available
  3. Hit every single apex
  4. Never ever coast
  5. Shift gears at the limit
  6. Downshift aggressively under braking
  7. Practice, practice, practice

Let’s now have a look at each one of them in more detail.

1. Brake later and harder than anyone

This is one of the most important things you can do to become faster in Project Cars 2 and any other racing game.

Brake later and harder than anyone

If you’re able to brake later than your opponents, you’ll be able to carry way more speed in the entry and therefore gain valuable tenths of a second.

To do this, you need to know the braking point for each corner and push it further lap by lap until you find the swee spot where you’re right on the limit without crossing it.

This will take some time and practice but once you get it, you’ll be able to pass people by braking later than them into corners.

2. Use all the track and kerbs available

In order to become faster in Project Cars 2, you need to learn how to use all the track and kerbs available, especially on the exit.

Think at tracks like Spa Francorchamps or Imola where you will need to jump over the apex kerbs and let the car run on the outside to get on the gas as early as possible.

Not only this will help you exit corners faster but it will also allow you to gain speed on the straights thanks to the earlier throttle pick up.

3. Hit every single apex

An apex is the point of a corner where your car is closest to the inside line.

Hit every single apex

Hitting all the apexes on track will allow you to be on the racin line therefore being faster and doing less distance.

It will also help you get on the gas earlier which as we’ve seen in the previous point, is key to go faster.

4. Never ever coast

Coasting is when you take your foot off the throttle and let the car slow down by itself without using the brakes.

It’s also the point where you might find yourself with no brakes in the rolling phase of the corners and be forced to take a wide line.

In order to avoid this, you need to be on the brakes until the end of the corner and then be on throttle already by the apex to get a good exit.

5. Shift gears at the limit

If you want to become faster in Project Cars 2, you need to learn how to shift gears at the limit without going over the redline.

This means that you need to have a perfect timing when you pull the paddle and click it into the next gear.

It will take some time to get it right but once you do, you’ll be able to gain precious tenths down the straihts.

6. Downshift aggressively under braking

Downshifting is when you shift gears from a higher to a lower gear while you’re braking.

Downshift aggressively under braking

Doing this in an aggressive way while braking very hard will allow you to slow the car down much more efficiently and gain a bit of time in each and every corner.

7. Practice, practice, practice

There’s no secret here, the only way to become faster in Project Cars 2 is to practice as much as possible.

The more you race, the more you’ll learn about each and every corner and the best line to take.

You’ll also be able to try different things and see which ones work best for you.

So get out there on track and start practicing!

Conclusion

These were the 7 tips you need to apply to become faster in Project Cars 2.

Start practicing them as soon as possible and you’ll see your lap times drop in no time!

Good luck and we’ll see you on track! 🙂
