Assetto Corsa Rally has 18 cars in version 0.6. That is the number on the official site and the Steam page on 9 October 2026, and both say the plan is 30 or more by the time the game leaves Early Access.

This page is the full list with the year, the in-game class, the drivetrain and the update that brought each car in, then the cars by era, then which one I would learn in. The game facts are from the official pages. The driving advice is mine, and I raced on circuits, not on stages, so take it as a circuit driver's reading of rally cars.

For the stages, the price and the PC specs, the Assetto Corsa Rally guide is the main page.

The years are the ones the official site gives. The in-game classes are the ones Traxion listed from the game on 10 September 2026, with the H1 to H3 split for the historic cars. The drivetrain is the real car's.

Count it by drive and you get four front wheel drive cars, six rear wheel drive and eight four wheel drive. That split matters more than the years, and I come back to it below.

The cars by era

Historic Group 2 and Group 4

Eight cars, all from before Group B, and the game splits them into three classes by performance.

H3 is the small ones: the Mini Cooper S, the Alfa GTA 1300 Junior and the Lancia Fulvia. All three have about as much power as a modern hot hatch, and the Mini and the Fulvia drive the front wheels. H2 is the Alpine A110 and the Fiat 124 Abarth, both rear wheel drive. H1 is the top of the historic tree: the Fiat 131 Abarth, the Lancia Stratos, and from 0.6 the Audi Quattro, the car that brought four wheel drive into rallying in the real 1981 season.

The Stratos deserves a line. Mid-engine, a Ferrari V6 behind your head, a wheelbase shorter than a modern supermini. It is the car most people buy the game for, and it is the one I would drive last of the eight.

Group B

One car. The Lancia Rally 037 EVO 2, rear wheel drive and supercharged, the last two wheel drive car to win the manufacturers' title in the real championship, in 1983. The game lists it as class B2. No four wheel drive Group B car is in the game yet, and nothing has been announced.

Group A and the kit car

The Lancia Delta HF Integrale EVO and the Subaru Impreza S3 are both class A8 and both four wheel drive turbo cars from the early nineties. The Peugeot 306 Maxi is the odd one out: a front wheel drive kit car with a naturally aspirated engine, class K11, built for tarmac.

World Rally Cars

Two: the Peugeot 206 WRC from 0.6 and the Citroen Xsara WRC from launch. Both are two litre turbo four wheel drive cars from the first generation of World Rally Cars. On paper they are the fastest cars in the game, and that is a reading of the rules they were built to, not a lap time I have measured.

Rally2, R5 and Rally4

The modern customer cars. The Hyundai i20N Rally2 and the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 are the cars that fill real WRC2 grids today, the Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 is the previous generation of the same formula, and the Peugeot 208 Rally4 is the front wheel drive step below them.

The developers described the Polo as quick without being difficult to drive when they announced it. That is the one developer handling claim I have for any car on the list.

Which car to learn in

My order, as someone who had to learn gravel from scratch:

  1. Peugeot 208 Rally4. Front wheel drive, the least power of the modern cars, and it tells you early when you are carrying too much speed into a corner. You will finish stages in it, and finishing stages is how you learn pace notes.
  2. Volkswagen Polo GTI R5. The first four wheel drive step. Same stages, now with the traction to get on the throttle before the apex.
  3. Lancia Fulvia or Alpine A110. Low power historic cars that teach you how much a rally car moves on gravel without punishing a mistake with 300 horsepower.
  4. Lancia Delta or Subaru Impreza. Group A is where the game starts to feel fast.
  5. The WRC cars, the Stratos and the 037. Last. The two Lancias in particular put you in the trees at corner three if you have not done the steps above.

The Peugeot 306 Maxi is the exception to all of that. It is a tarmac car. Drive it on the Monte Carlo stages, not in Wales.

What is still to come

The Steam page says 30 or more cars after launch. The pattern so far is two or three cars per content update: one in 0.2, two in 0.3, two in 0.4, none in 0.5 (that was the physics and multiplayer update), three in 0.6.

Before 0.6 the game director, Irvin Zonca, said in a community Q&A that the next cars would be one French and two German, and that he could not name them until the manufacturers approved. Engine sound teasers then gave away the Peugeot, the Audi and the Volkswagen before the announcement. So if you want to know the next cars early, the teasers are where to look.

As of 9 October 2026 no car has been named for the next update. When one is, this page gets it.

Two related things 0.6 brought: custom liveries, and what the developers called the first implementations towards modding support. Whether that turns into community cars the way it did in the original Assetto Corsa is not something anyone has promised.

FAQ

18 in version 0.6, checked on 9 October 2026. The game launched with 10 on 13 November 2025.

Is there a Group B car in Assetto Corsa Rally?

One, the Lancia Rally 037 EVO 2. It is rear wheel drive. No four wheel drive Group B car is in the game or announced.

Which is the fastest car in Assetto Corsa Rally?

On paper the two World Rally Cars, the Peugeot 206 WRC and the Citroen Xsara WRC. That is from the rules they were built to, not from my lap times.

Is the Subaru in the game the 22B?

No. It is the Impreza S3 Group A from 1993, the Colin McRae era car, not the 22B road car.

Which car should a beginner drive?

The Peugeot 208 Rally4, then the Polo GTI R5. My advice, not the developers'.
