The numbers come from Full Grip Motorsport's BoP for Silverstone, read on 5 October 2026. It is a league balance built from hotlap pace, not the official one in the game.
It works with ballast. The quickest car at each track is the reference at 0 kg. Every other car runs lighter to keep up. The more weight a car has taken off, the further it is from the pace there. I only show their top five. The full table is on their site.
Three kilos cover the first four. That is as close to a tie as this data gets. Pick any of them and you have the right car.
1. Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II
Silverstone is fast corners and quick changes of direction. Copse. Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel. Stowe. That is where the Audi is at its best.
It is strong in high speed corners and it changes direction quickly with the engine in the middle. Through Becketts that is worth more than anything else on the lap.
It is not the easiest car. The rear moves if you are rough with the throttle out of the Loop or Luffield. Smooth hands and it is the quickest thing here.
2. Ferrari 296 GT3
One kilo behind, and a much friendlier car. The 296 turns in sharply, stays balanced through the fast sweeps and looks after its tyres.
Silverstone is hard on the front left. A car that is kind on tyres holds its pace to the end of the stint. For a race I would take this over the Audi.
3. Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2
The Huracan shares a lot with the Audi and it drives in a similar way. Agile, strong in fast corners, a bit lively at the rear.
If you have the 2023 GT World Challenge Pack you own this and the Ferrari. Try both and keep the one you can repeat laps in.
Other cars that work at Silverstone
- McLaren 720S GT3 Evo (-3 kg). The most downforce in the class on a track made of fast corners. It is no surprise to find it here. It is also free. If you do not want to buy a pack, this is your Silverstone car.
- BMW M4 GT3 (-6 kg). The best front engine car here. It is stable through Copse and Stowe, and it is the forgiving choice if the mid engine cars feel nervous to you.
- Porsche 992 GT3 R (-10 kg). Good traction out of the slow corners of the Arena section and strong on the brakes into Stowe and Vale. It gives time away in the fast changes of direction, where the weight at the back makes it harder to place.
What Silverstone rewards
A stable aero platform and a car that changes direction without a fight.
Most of the lap time is in four places: Abbey, Copse, the Maggotts and Becketts sequence, and Stowe. All fast. All about how much speed you carry in and how early you get back to full throttle.
You cannot run low wing here. The straights are long, but the corners between them are faster and longer than the straights are worth.
The slow part, from Village to the Loop, matters less than it feels. Do not set the car up for it.
What the pro drivers say
Coach Dave Academy asked its pro drivers to rank the GT3 cars in April 2026. They put the Ford Mustang GT3 first everywhere and they name the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II as one of the cars to pick for Silverstone.
Full Grip's numbers say the same thing. The Audi Evo II sits first in their table here. When a pro driver ranking and a hotlap based balance agree, I would trust it.
The best car for beginners at Silverstone
The Ferrari 296 GT3. Coach Dave's drivers call it the beginner friendly one of the fast cars, and at Silverstone it is one kilo off the best. You give up nothing.
If you do not own the pack, take the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo. It is free and it has the grip to make Becketts feel easy.
Sprint races and endurance races
For a sprint race any of the top four will do. I would pick on qualifying pace, because Silverstone is not an easy track to pass on in equal cars. The best chances are into Brooklands and into Stowe.
For a long race think about the front left tyre. It carries the load through every fast right hander. The Ferrari 296 is the one I would choose over a full stint. The McLaren is the one I would watch, because it works its tyres harder.
Pick the car you know
