The best drag car in Forza Horizon 6 is the 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition Forza Edition. With a full drag build, players report quarter mile times of 6.3 to 6.4 seconds. Nothing else is in the 6.3s.

Below is the full ranking, the cheap options, how the three drag strips differ and the base tune I would start from. I checked everything on 4 October 2026. The times are community tested times for full builds, not my own runs, and prices are approximate.

Where I write "No time" or "Not confirmed", I did not find a number that two sources agree on. I would rather leave a gap than give you a wrong figure.

1. Nissan GT-R Black Edition Forza Edition

This is the drag car of the game. The Forza Edition R35 has 10.0 for acceleration and 10.0 for launch on the stat sheet, it sits in S2 class and it drives all four wheels.

That last part is why it wins. A quarter mile is decided in the first 60 metres. The car that puts its power down first is ahead, and the others spend the rest of the strip trying to catch it. All wheel drive with that much launch is very hard to beat over 402 metres.

You cannot simply buy it in the Autoshow. It comes from Wheelspins or the Auction House, at around 750,000 credits.

2. Wuling Sunshine

Yes, the minivan. With a full drag build the Wuling Sunshine is reported at 6.59 seconds, which puts it second.

It is the sleeper of the game. It weighs very little, so once it has a big engine and all wheel drive, the power to weight ratio is absurd. It is also the funniest way to win a Drag Meet.

3. Mazda MX-5 Miata Forza Edition

The 1994 Miata Forza Edition is rated S2 850. The reported time is 6.65 seconds.

Same logic as the Wuling: a very light car with a lot of power.

4. Koenigsegg Jesko

The Jesko runs a reported 6.82 seconds with a full all wheel drive drag build. It costs about 3,500,000 credits in the Autoshow.

On the quarter mile it loses to the three cars above. On the Festival Kilometer it is a different story. Over 1,000 metres the launch is a small part of the run and top speed takes over. That is the Jesko's strip.

5. Mercedes-AMG ONE

All wheel drive from the factory. About 2,800,000 credits.

It is the hypercar I would pick if you want something that launches clean without a drivetrain swap.

6. Hennessey Venom F5

1,817 hp from a twin turbo V8. About 2,050,000 credits.

It is rear wheel drive, so stock it struggles for traction off the line. It is a car for the half mile and the kilometre, where all that power has room to work.

7. Lamborghini Diablo GTR

Reported at 7.07 seconds with a drag build. Not the fastest here, but a strong option if you want something that is not a GT-R.

8. Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Forza Edition

The 2019 Tacoma Forza Edition comes with VIP Membership. It runs about 8.5 seconds stock and about 7.6 seconds fully upgraded.

If you have VIP, it is a free drag car that works on day one.

9. Toyota Supra RZ

My budget pick. The 1998 Supra RZ costs about 60,000 credits and it takes a drag build very well. It is the classic drag platform for a reason: a strong straight six that accepts a big single turbo.

It will not beat the GT-R. It will teach you how to launch a rear wheel drive car, and it costs less than a tenth of the price.

10. Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

About 125,000 credits. Big supercharged V8, rear wheel drive, a lot of torque. A good second budget car if you prefer muscle.

One more worth knowing: the 2020 Nissan GT-R Nismo. It beats the 11 second target on the Irokawa Quarter Mile playlist challenge without any modification.

The three drag strips

The three drag strips in Forza Horizon 6: Irokawa Quarter Mile, Ito Half-Mile and Festival Kilometer
Three strips, three distances. One build does not win all of them.

Drag Meets sit in the open world. You drive up to a lane, ready up and wait for the lights. Each strip has 12 slots. If you jump the light, you are disqualified.

StripDistanceWhereUnlock
Irokawa Quarter Mile402 mIrokawa Space Center, NanganGreen wristband
Ito Half-Mile805 mAirfield in MinaminoGreen wristband
Festival Kilometer1,000 mHorizon Festival site, OhtaniYellow wristband

How to choose the car for each:

  • Irokawa Quarter Mile. Launch is everything. All wheel drive, short gearing, the GT-R Forza Edition.
  • Ito Half-Mile. The launch still matters, but mid range acceleration decides it. Longer gearing.
  • Festival Kilometer. Top speed. This is where the Jesko and the Venom F5 belong.

Each strip has weekly leaderboards split by class, so you do not need an S2 monster to compete. A well built A or S1 car can top its own board.

What makes a good drag car

  • Traction first. Power you cannot put down is useless. That is why all wheel drive wins the quarter mile.
  • Power to weight. This is how a minivan beats hypercars.
  • Linear power delivery. A big turbo that hits all at once breaks traction in the middle of the run.
  • Gearing that fits the strip. You want to cross the line near the top of the revs in your last gear.

It is the same in real racing. The start is the one moment where everybody has the same road and the difference is only how much of your power reaches the ground. A clean launch with less power beats a messy one with more.

Base drag build and tune

The parts:

  • Drag tires, always
  • Narrowest front tire, widest rear tire
  • All wheel drive swap for the quarter mile
  • Race transmission, driveline and differential
  • Full weight reduction
  • Remove aero where you can
  • Adjustable suspension, set soft

The starting tune:

SettingStart here
Tire pressure, rear24 psi, go lower if the rear spins
Tire pressure, front32 psi, higher on a rear wheel drive car
Camber0.0 to -0.5 front, 0.0 rear
Toe0.0 front and rear
SpringsSoft
Ride heightMaximum
Differential, acceleration80 to 85%
First gearLong, to limit wheelspin
Final driveSet so you cross the line near the limiter in top gear

The pressures are where builds differ most. Some rear wheel drive drag tunes go as far as 15 psi rear and 55 psi front. Start at my numbers and move in small steps.

Gearing is the part that wins or loses a run. Do one pass, look at the telemetry and check two things: how much wheelspin you have in first, and which gear and rpm you cross the line in. Fix first gear for the launch, then the final drive for the finish.

Every slider is explained in my FH5 tuning guide, and the logic of a top speed build is in my guide on making the fastest car.

How to launch

  1. Switch traction control off. It cuts power when you need it.
  2. Use manual with clutch if you can. The shifts are faster.
  3. Hold the revs where the engine makes torque, not at the limiter.
  4. Go on green, not before. A jumped light is a disqualification.
  5. Shift just before the limiter. Hitting it costs you time on every gear.
