The Fanatec Podium Pedals Sport is a two pedal load cell set for $599.99 in the US and €599.95 in Europe, on sale since 16 October 2026. It sits between the ClubSport Pedals V3 and the Podium Pedals Formula in Fanatec's range.

Pedals are where I tell people to spend before the wheel base. So the question is simple: is this the set to spend it on?

Checked on 26 October 2026 on Fanatec's own US and EU product pages and its US pedals page, with GTPlanet's launch report of 16 October for the release date and compatible bases.

The brake is the reason to buy it

A load cell brake reads how hard you push, not how far the pedal moves. That is how a real race car brake works: the pedal barely moves once the pads are on, and you brake with pressure. My load cell pedals guide explains why that makes you more consistent.

Two things on the Sport matter for that:

  • 150 kg calibration. That is a lot of headroom. You will not use all of it, and you should not try. Set the maximum in software to a force you can hit every lap without straining, then build the stack to give you a firm, short pedal.
  • Tool free elastomer cups. You can change how the brake feels without a spanner, which means you will actually try different settings. Most people never touch the brake feel on pedals that need tools, and they drive the whole life of the pedal on the factory setup.

A firm brake helps most with the release, not the hit. That is where the lap time is in trail braking: bleeding the pressure off smoothly as you turn in.

Price against the rest of Fanatec's pedals

Bar chart of Fanatec pedal set US prices on 26 October 2026: CSL Pedals 139.99 dollars, CSL Pedals LC 239.98, CSL Elite Pedals V2 329.99, ClubSport Pedals V3 429.99, Podium Pedals Sport 599.99, Podium Pedals Formula 699.99

The Podium Pedals Formula at $699.99 is the same idea with carbon plates and heel cups, aimed at left foot braking; it was listed as unavailable on 26 October. The ClubSport Pedals V3 at $429.99 is $170 less with three pedals.

Outside Fanatec, the Logitech RS Pedals have a load cell brake for $149.99 (I checked it the same day). They are not in the same class of build, but they show how little you need to spend to get the load cell benefit. My best sim racing pedals guide covers the other brands.

What it works with

  • PC: straight into USB-C, or through a Fanatec base. You can keep both connected.
  • PlayStation 4 and 5: through a PlayStation licensed Fanatec base.
  • Xbox: through a supported Fanatec base with an Xbox licensed wheel.

GTPlanet lists the CSL DD, Gran Turismo DD Pro, ClubSport DD and DD+ and Podium DD as compatible bases, and notes a firmware update may be needed. If you have a GT DD Pro on PS5, this is a straight upgrade from the pedals in the bundle.

Who should buy it

Buy it if you are on a Fanatec base, already know you want a load cell, and do not use a clutch. Two pedals cover most GT and formula driving on paddles.

Wait if you drive cars with an H pattern and a clutch. The clutch has no price or date yet, so you cannot know the full cost.

Skip it if the budget is tight. A cheaper load cell set gets you most of the gain. The money between a $240 set and this one buys a lot of rig rigidity, and a brake on a flexing rig never feels right however good the pedal is.
