You’re probably just getting started with iRacing and were wondering what kind of cars you will get for free after creating an account.
Well, you’ll still have to pay for the $12.99 monthly subscription, but at least you won’t have to purchase new cars from the get-go.

Are there any free cars in iRacing?
Well, I’ve got great news for you.
Once you’ve signed up to iRacing you’ll get access to 16 laser scanned cars for free!
That’s nice since it’s actually quite rare to find some free stuff on iRacing…
You could also say that this is a great way to get started with the most prestigious sim racing game in the world.
It’s surely a great incentive even though I feel like some of you will still want to upgrade to the premium cars after a while.
The list of cars you’ll get for free includes some nice little beasts including the Indycar from Dallara and a Nascar Truck.
Here’s the iRacing free cars list:
- Dallara DW12 Indycar
- Nascar Truck series
- Formula Vee
- Dirt Street Stock
- Lucas Oil Truck
- UMP Modified
- VW Beetle
- Dirt Legends Ford
- Kia Optima
- Cadillac CTS-V
- Pontiac Solstice Club Sport
- JR Motorsports Street Stock
- SCCA Spec Ford Racer
- Legends Ford Coupe
- Volkswagen Jetta
- Radical SR8 V8
So yeah, probably you won’t be using all of these cars because you’re more inclined towards Indycars, F1, and Nascar, though it’s certainly a nice list and can also give you ideas for some different cars to try out for the first time.
Do you have to pay for cars in iRacing?
Yes, premium cars come at a price of a few dollars each.
Don’t get discouraged though, if you’ll then want to make the switch to premium cars the price you’ll have to pay is quite small.
With a few bucks, you could drive the world’s most elite cars in one of the best racing simulations out there.
To be precise you’ll need $11.95 for a new car and you can get a 10% when purchasing a bundle of 3 cars.
That’s a great value for your money, so don’t be afraid to pay a few bucks for more content.

Bottom line:
So hopefully you’ll find this guide useful, as it’s always great to have a list of cars you can use for free.
Just remember that the number of free cars is limited to just 16 and you might eventually want to upgrade to a more premium experience later on.
Though don’t get discouraged since you can get some real value out of those free cars despite not being so amazing as you think.
Make sure you practice a lot before hitting any races with real people, as you don’t want to ruin your initial iRacing experience (and iRating) if you’re still a beginner.
