So you’re thinking to get started with RaceRoom but were wondering which kind of system requirements you needed.
Well, this is a brief tutorial which will tell you a little bit about what kind of requirements RaceRoom has and also what to expect in order to play the game.
RaceRoom was developed by Sector3 studios and features a real driving simulation software game.
For this tutorial I will focus on the system requirements and what you can expect from a racing simulation game such as Raceroom.
Can my computer run RaceRoom?
That’s the question everyone has in their mind when they see that new sim racing game.
The answer is YES, your computer can run RaceRoom but you need to know a few things before you can say that it’s going to run smoothly.
You need a good computer with a graphics card that has lots of memory.
A minimum of 4GB is recommended, especially if you are planning to run RaceRoom on high settings.
- Hard Drive: 37 GB HD space
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 – 8 – 10.
- Processor: Dual core at 2.4 GHz or AMD equivalent.
- Memory: 4 GB.
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD equivalent.
What settings can I choose?
After you’ve decided that your PC has both hardware and software to run Raceroom, it’s time to get ready and start the game!
You can choose different graphics settings according to what your hardware can handle.
Theoretically, you can run the game on Medium settings but if you have a good computer with a powerful graphics card, you can raise the graphic quality to High/Ultra settings.
If your PC is not new and if it has a lower range of power, you should go for the Medium settings to make sure you get a smooth gameplay.
It’s very important that your PC is capable of running both the software and hardware because there might be a case that you have a powerful graphics card but your computer is not able to handle it.
Can I play RaceRoom offline?
Unfortunately not, you can only play the game online while connected to the internet.
You don’t need a fast connection or anything of that sort, just an internet connection will do.
Can I play Raceroom online as Multiplayer?
You can choose to play alone or with friends in a multiplayer race.
Just select the multiplayer option and add your friends before you start playing.
In order to have a good gameplay, you need at least 3 to 5 Mbps in order to avoid lags and I also recommend that you have a microphone and a headset in order to communicate with your team.
What engine does Raceroom use?
Differently fromother SimBin & Sector3 Studio releases, RaceRoom uses its own proprietary RendR graphics engine and features commonly used post-processing effects and has native support for rain conditions.
To wrap up:
So here we are, we have gone through the basic things you need to know about Raceroom and what to expect in terms of its system requirements.
Remember that this is a racing simulation game and it’s not that easy to run, even though your PC might meet the required system requirements.
As we said earlier, you need a powerful graphics card and a good processor in order to get the best gameplay experience while playing RaceRoom.
You can choose different graphic quality settings according to what your computer can handle, but if you have a good PC then I suggest you play the game on Ultra/High settings.
Hope this was helpful.
As always, happy racing! 🙂
