In this highly competitive racing landscape using a joystick is not an option anymore.

You really can’t expect to be winning online races on Assetto Corsa, ACC or on iRacing.

So you’re thinking about upgrading your sim setup and were looking for a high end wheel to get into the next level of driving immersion.

Well you’re in luck, today we have one of the best looking and most efficient wheels on the market, the Thrustmaster TMX.

The TMX comes with a detachable wheel and pedals, as well as a clamping system that will fit 99% of sim racing cockpits.

It also has a pair of very nicely integrated paddle shifters taht will guarantee a more realistic experience.

Having said that, let’s nog go in depth about the specs and jump into our TMX review.

Does the TMX come with a wheel base?

Yes it does and that’s really great considering that most of the racing wheels in the market require it to be purchased separately.

What about its force feedback (FFB)?

The Thrustmaster TMX actually has a really advanced force feedback system that allows drivers to really feel what’s going on in the track.

The force feedback works through a brushless servomotor that is capable of delivering strong, precise and consistent driving feedback.

The wheel has a dual motor system that will give you a really realistic experience.

Yeah sure, it’s not as sophisticates as the Fanatec’s force feedback but for the price it’s currently being sold at it totally makes sense.

The Thrustmaster TMX actuator has a rotation of 100º which is just awesome, this really gives you the immersion necessary for sim racing games.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes, the TX is an excellent choice for drivers that are looking to first get themselves involve in the world of sim racing.

The wheel is actually pretty cheap when compared with other similarly though it serves most of the same features as the higher end options in the market.

The TX is a wheel that has been designed to make sim racing as accessible as possible for all levels of drivers.

What games are compatible with it?

  • iRacing
  • ACC
  • Assetto Corsa
  • rFactor
  • Forza 5
  • Gt Sport
  • and more…

What’s included in the box?

What’s included in the box?

The Thrustamster TMX comes with:

  • The actual steering wheel
  • Integrated FFB
  • The et of pedals
  • Integrated paddle shifters
  • USB cable
  • Instrution manual

Is it easy to setup?

The Thrustmaster TMX is really easy to install and set up, all you need is a good sim racing cockpit and you’re good to go.

The wheel comes with a clamping system that will fit 99% of cockpits, therefore you don’t need to buy an adapter if your cockpit is compatible.

The pedals will fit pretty much every sim racing cockpit as well.

Can I use it on PS4 and PS5?

The great thing about this steering wheel is that you can use it not only on Playstation 4 but on Playstation 5 as well.

The wheel is fully compatible with Sony’s new console and you can use it without any issues.

That’s such a great news for all the PS5 users out there.

Does it work on PC and Laptop?

Yeah, though not all games might be compatible with the Thrustmaster TMX on PC.

Also remember that the graphics quality for running the majority of sim racing softwares is not as good on Laptop and so the experience might not be as realistic.

You’ll still be able to use the wheel on your PC but you might encounter some problems with some games.

Will it make me faster?

I’m pretty sure it will, especially if you currently been racing with a joystick.

The Thrustmaster TMX is without a doubt a great way to take your sim racing skills to the next level.

Using a wheel like the Thrustmaster TMX is certainly going to give you an edge against most of your competitors if you’ll spend the appropriate time to adapt your driving style.

The wheel will provide a realistic driving feel and will help you refine your racing skills.

Depending on how much time you’ll dedicate to using the wheel, it will certainly help you setting personal best and hopefully win races online. 😉

How much does it cost?

This racing wheel is definetely not the cheapest and retails at about 500 bucks.

It’s not as expensive as the Fanatec’s line of products though, and for the features it offers it’s a total bargain.

I know, 500 bucks is quite a lot of money, no doubt about that, but if you consider how much time you’ll be using it, especially if you race online, then you’ll see a great ROI on your investment.

Where can I get it?

Where can I get it?

You can get it on Amazon and I encourage you to check its current price and customer reviews here.

Bottom line: is it worth it?

So is the Thrutmaster TMX reall worth the money?

If you’re looking for a great quality wheel that comes with a realistic driving feel, then the answer is definetely yes!

The wheel is just great in terms of overall quality and driving performance.

With its relatively low cost you’re getting a high end racing wheel that will last for many years to come.

If instead you’re looking for a cheaper option, then there are plenty of other affordable alternatives in the market.

I believe that the Thrustmaster TMX is generally a great purchase for all sim racers out there, but especially for beginners.

If you want to get serious about sim racing, then this is certainly the way to go.

Hope that was useful and as always, happy racing 🙂
