ACC Keyboard Shortcuts: Every Default Key and Control

These are the default keyboard shortcuts in Assetto Corsa Competizione, 54 of them, grouped by what you use them for. I checked the list against the default bindings on 5 October 2026.

You do not need all of them. A GT3 car asks you for a handful of things while you drive: start it, limit the speed in the pit lane, change TC, ABS and brake bias, switch on the lights and wipers, and manage the pit stop from the MFD. Learn those first. The rest you can look up here.

The keys to learn first

The pattern is easy to remember. Shift plus the letter raises the value. Ctrl plus the same letter lowers it. T is traction control, A is ABS, B is brake bias and E is engine map.

Driving

Yes, the default throttle is A and the brake is Z, with the steering on the comma and period keys. It is an odd layout and I change it straight away if I ever have to drive on a keyboard. More on that below.

Starting the car and the pit lane

The engine does not start by itself in ACC. Ignition first, then hold the starter. If you stall after a spin it is the same two keys. The pit limiter is on you too: forget it and you get a penalty for speeding in the pit lane. My ACC pit stop guide covers the whole procedure.

TC, ABS, brake bias and engine map

These are the four settings you change during a race. In the real GT3 car they sit on rotary switches on the steering wheel, and you move them during a stint: more TC when the rear tyres go off, brake bias rearward when the fronts start to lock. Lights, wipers and indicators

L cycles through the headlight stages. The rain light is separate, and in a wet race you want it on so the car behind can see you in the spray. For the rest of what changes in the rain, see my wet weather driving and setup guide.

MFD, dash display and chat

MFD means multi function display. It is the small menu on the HUD where you set the pit stop: fuel, tyre set, pressures, driver swap. Press Insert to open it and to go to the next page, then use the arrow keys to move and change values. Do it on a straight, not in the braking zone.

Cameras

Session, HUD and replays

The focus keys are for replays and for when you are spectating: they jump the camera to the next car, the previous car or back to yours. F2 hides or cycles the HUD, which is useful for clean screenshots. If you do not know what every box on the screen means, my ACC HUD guide explains each one.

VR

In VR, Ctrl + Left and Ctrl + Right move the HUD closer or further away. Out of VR the same keys change the field of view. Reset the view every time you sit down, with your head in your normal driving position.

How to change the key bindings

1. Open Options, then Controls.
2. Pick the keyboard, or your wheel, as the device.
3. Click the action you want to change and press the new key or button.
4. Save the layout as a preset so you can load it again after an update.

If you have a wheel, the keyboard is only a backup. Put ignition, starter, pit limiter, TC, ABS, brake bias, the MFD keys, wipers, lights and flash on wheel buttons, in that order of priority, until you run out of buttons. Whatever is left stays on the keyboard. I keep the keyboard within reach of my right hand for exactly those leftovers.

Can you drive ACC on a keyboard?

You can, and I would not. A key is either pressed or not, so the throttle and the brake are full or nothing. A GT3 car needs you to brake hard and then come off the pedal slowly into the corner, and to feed the throttle on the exit. A keyboard cannot do either. You will rely on TC and ABS for everything and you will still be seconds off.

How do I start the car in ACC with the keyboard?

Press Shift + I to switch on the ignition, then press S for the starter and hold it until the engine fires.

What is the pit limiter key in ACC?

Alt + L. Switch it on before the pit entry line and off after the exit line.

How do I open the MFD in ACC?

Press Insert. Each press goes to the next MFD page. Use the up and down arrow keys to move between the lines and left and right to change a value.

How do I change TC and ABS while driving?

Shift + T raises traction control and Ctrl + T lowers it. Shift + A raises ABS and Ctrl + A lowers it. On a wheel, bind them to buttons or rotary encoders.

How do I turn on the wipers and the lights?

Alt + R cycles the wiper speeds. L cycles the headlights, Ctrl + L switches the rain light and Shift + L flashes the headlights.

How do I hide the HUD in ACC?

Press F2. It cycles through the HUD modes, including one with the HUD hidden.

Can I change the keyboard shortcuts?

Yes. Go to Options, then Controls, click an action and press the key you want. Save the result as a preset.
