At Brands Hatch one car is alone at the top. The McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.
It is 11 kg clear of the Huracan GT3 EVO2 and 17 kg clear of the BMW M4 GT3. On a lap this short that is a big margin.
And the Ford Mustang GT3, the fastest car in the game overall, is ninth. Brands Hatch is the track where it helps least.

The numbers come from Full Grip Motorsport's BoP for Brands Hatch, read on 5 October 2026. It is a league balance built from hotlap pace, not the official one in the game.
It works with ballast. The quickest car at each track is the reference at 0 kg. Every other car runs lighter to keep up. The more weight a car has taken off, the further it is from the pace there. I only show their top five. The full table is on their site.
This is one of the most spread out tables of any track. The car matters more at Brands Hatch than almost anywhere else.
1. McLaren 720S GT3 Evo
Brands Hatch has almost no straight. The lap is corners joined by short bursts of throttle, most of them fast and most of them over a crest or through a dip.
That is downforce. The McLaren has more of it than anything else in the class, and here it never has to pay for it on a long straight.
Paddock Hill Bend, Hawthorn, Westfield, Sheene. In every one of them the McLaren carries speed the others cannot. It is also a free update.
2. Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2
Agile and strong in fast corners, which is the whole of the Grand Prix loop. The rear is livelier than the McLaren's over the crests, so it asks more of you at Paddock Hill and Dingle Dell.
3. BMW M4 GT3
The best front engine car here and the calm choice. It is 17 kg off, but it is stable through the compressions and it rides the kerbs well at Stirling's and Clearways. If the mid engine cars scare you at Paddock Hill, drive this.
Other cars that work at Brands Hatch
- Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT3 (-21 kg). Stable on the brakes into Druids and steady through the fast back section. A base game car that is easy to place on a narrow track.
- Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II (-21 kg). Level with the Aston in the data. Fast through Hawthorn and Westfield, more work at the rear on the exits.
- Porsche 992 GT3 R (-29 kg). Good traction out of Druids and Graham Hill Bend. It needs a very precise turn in at Paddock Hill, where the track falls away under you.
What Brands Hatch rewards
Downforce, and a car that stays settled when the ground moves.
Nothing at Brands Hatch is flat. You turn into Paddock Hill Bend blind and the track drops away. You climb to Druids, drop to Graham Hill Bend, then the Grand Prix loop runs through the woods over crests and into dips.
A car with grip from its aero stays planted through all of that. A car that relies on mechanical grip gets light over the crests.
The track is also narrow, with grass and gravel right at the edge. You need to place the car within centimetres. That is why a nervous car costs more here than its raw pace suggests.
Straight line speed does almost nothing. That is the Mustang's problem.
What the pro drivers say
Coach Dave Academy asked its pro drivers to rank the GT3 cars in April 2026. They put the Ford Mustang GT3 first everywhere and they name the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo as one of the cars to pick for Brands Hatch.
Full Grip does not agree. The AMG is only eighth in their table here, at -31 kg. I do not read that as one of them being wrong. One is pro drivers judging a car over a race distance on the official balance. The other is hotlap pace turned into ballast for a league. Different questions, different answers.
The best car for beginners at Brands Hatch
The BMW M4 GT3. It is third in the data, it is free and it is the most forgiving car in the top five. Brands Hatch punishes a slide straight away, so forgiving matters.
When you are comfortable, move to the McLaren. It is free too, and it is where the lap time is.
Sprint races and endurance races
Passing at Brands Hatch is very hard. Paddock Hill Bend and Druids are the two real chances, plus Hawthorn if you are brave. In a sprint race qualifying is most of the result. Take the McLaren.
In a long race the McLaren works its tyres harder than the others, so watch the rears late in the stint. Traffic is the other problem. The lap is short, so you are always catching or being caught. A car you can place exactly is worth more than a tenth of pace.
Pick the car you know
Brands Hatch is the exception to that rule more than most tracks. The McLaren's margin is real. But it only counts if you can keep it on the road at Paddock Hill.
