Are you looking for the best VR headset to take your Assetto Corsa experience to the next level? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

In this blog post, we’ll be taking a look at the four best VR headsets currently on the market specifically for use with Assetto Corsa.

We’re going to have a look at the pros and cons of each headset, as well as how they compare to one another. So, without further ado, let’s get started!

The 4 Best VR Headsets for Assetto Corsa

Spoiler alert: though all of the headsets on the list have got their pros and cons, according to most sim drivers the best VR to use on Assetto Corsa is the Oculus Rift S thanks to its wide field of view, high refresh rate, and great VR resolution.

Having said that, let’s get started with our list of the best VR for Assetto Corsa in 2022.

What VR headset works with Assetto Corsa?

Each of the following headsets is compatible with SteamVR which will allow you to play Assetto Corsa and most other sim racing games in VR. Those include:

  1. Oculus Rift S
  2. Valve Index
  3. HTC Vive
  4. Samsung HMD Odyssey+

So let’s now have a look into each of these VR headsets in detail, starting with the Oculus Rift S.

1. Oculu Rift S

Being one of the most popular VR among sim racers, the Rift S is a really high-performing piece of hardware.

It’s got a high resolution of 2560 x 1440px and a 80Hz refresh rate which makes it perfect for Assetto Corsa.

Oculu Rift S

The Oculus Rift S also has a pretty wide field of view of 110 degrees which gives you a much more immersive experience when racing.

It’s also one of the lightest headsets on the market, weighing in at around 550g.

Its price is also one of the most affordable retailing for around $400.

2. Valve Index

The Valve Index is a high-end VR headset that’s been designed specifically for gaming.

It’s got a really high resolution of 2880 x 1600 pixels and the best performing refresh rate of up to 144Hz which is just perfect for driving in Assetto Corsa.

It also has a wide field of view of 130 degrees that is unmatched by most VR headsets.

Valve Index

The only downside of this headset is its relatively high price of $550 which perhaps puts it out of reach for some.

3. HTC Vive

The HTC Vive is the most expensive headset on our list. It currently sells for around $1000 making it unaffordable for most people.

It’s still a very powerful headset though, with a pretty good resolution of 2160 x 1200 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz.

HTC Vive

It also has a wide field of view of 110 degrees, which is important for catching the apexs and being reactive in the high speed corners.

Unfortunately, though, most sim racers don’t seem to be happy about its high price relative to its features. Those extra $500 price tag doesn’t really make it twice as good as the Quest 2 or Valve Index.

4. Samsung HMD Odyssey+

The Samsung HMD Odyssey+ is the last VR headset on our list.

As the other headsets on our list, it’s compatible with SteamVR which allows playing Assetto Corsa and most other sim racing games in VR.

It’s got an impressive resolution of 2880 x 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz.

Samsung HMD Odyssey+

Just like the HTC Vive, it has a field of view of 110 degrees. It’s also pretty light, weighing only about 640g..

Unfortunately, it lacks several features including wireless support and integrated audio which are both present in other high end gaming VR like the Oculus Quest 2 (which is not in our list).

At least what’s good is that it retails for only $440 making it slightly more affordable than the other high-end VR headsets on our list.

What’s the best VR for Assetto Corsa?

The Oculus Rift S. With its impressive 2560 x 1440px resolution, 80Hz refresh rate, and 110-degree field of view, the Rift S gives you the most immersive experience when playing Assetto Corsa. It’s also one of the lightest headsets on the market and has an integrated wireless feature that allows playing without being plugged into a PC USB.

Its price is also not pretty affordable compared to most other headsets, retailing for around $400.

What’s the cheapest VR for Assetto Corsa?

The Samsung HMD Odyssey+ is the best VR for Assetto Corsa in terms of price as it’s compatible with SteamVR. Retailing for only $440, it’s significantly cheaper than the other high-end VR headsets like the HTC Vive and Valve Index.

Do you need a VR headset for Assetto Corsa?

If you’re looking for the most immersive experience possible while playing Assetto Corsa, then you definitely need a VR headset. The headsets on our list offer the best performance and features for playing Assetto Corsa.

Without a VR headset, you’ll be missing out on the full potential of the game. If you can’t afford a VR headset, then we recommend playing Assetto Corsa on a regular monitor or television.

Conclusion:

So, that’s our roundup of the best VR headsets for Assetto Corsa in 2022.

Hope that helped in choosing the right headset for you.

As always, happy sim racing! 🙂
