Yes, Forza Horizon 6 supports steering wheels, on PC and on Xbox Series X|S. Playground Games keeps an official list of supported wheels on Forza Support, and it covers Logitech, Thrustmaster, Fanatec, MOZA, Turtle Beach, HORI, Nacon and Mad Catz. On PS5 nobody knows yet. The game launches there on 26 January 2027 and Playground has not published which wheels will work.

The catch is the platform. A wheel can be fully supported on PC and not work at all on Xbox, because the console only talks to licensed wheels. And many bases are only "partial".

Checked on 15 October 2026 against the FH6 Supported Wheels and Devices article on Forza Support (last updated 19 May 2026), the 11 FH6 release notes from 18 May to 5 October 2026, the Forza Horizon 6 on PlayStation 5 FAQ (8 October 2026), Fanatec's Xbox compatibility pages and Simagic's SimProManager release notes. If a wheel is not on the official list, I say so. I do not guess.

This page is the compatibility list. The force feedback values for each brand are on my Forza Horizon 6 wheel settings page.

The full supported wheels list

"Yes" means the wheel is on the official list for that platform. "Partial" is the asterisk on the official list: Playground says some support is there, and more is coming in an update. "Not listed" means the official list leaves that box empty, so do not count on it.

The Fanatec rims Playground tested are the CSL Elite McLaren GT3 V1/V2, ClubSport Formula V2, BMW M3 GT2, CSL P1 X / CSL Elite WRC, CSL P1, Porsche 918 rim, Formula rim, Universal Hub for Xbox V1/V2 and the Universal Hub. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS wheel is legacy support on PC only.

One more note from the official page on Thrustmaster. Every TX wheel uses the same USB identifier, so the game defaults to the 458 Edition. Pick your exact model in the controls menu, or the buttons map wrong.

Why some wheels are PC only

Xbox does not accept any USB wheel. The wheel needs an Xbox licence, which means a chip inside that the console recognises. Most brands sell two versions of the same wheel: one for Xbox and PC, one for PlayStation and PC. The official FH6 page says it plainly: Xbox versions are not guaranteed to work on PlayStation, and the other way round.

So on PC almost everything works. On Xbox only the Xbox models do:

  • Logitech G29 is the PlayStation and PC model. In FH6 it is PC only. The G920 is the same wheel for Xbox and PC, and it works on both.
  • Thrustmaster T300 RS is a PlayStation and PC base. PC only in FH6. The TX is the Xbox version and works on both.
  • Fanatec is different. The rim decides Xbox support, not the base. Fanatec puts the chip in its Xbox licensed rims, so a CSL DD, ClubSport DD+, Podium or even the PlayStation licensed GT DD Pro works on Xbox with an Xbox rim on it.
  • MOZA has one Xbox licensed base, the R3, sold with the ESX wheel. It is the only MOZA listed for Xbox in FH6, and it is partial.

If you are buying a wheel for FH6 on Xbox, check the box. It has to say Xbox. If it says PlayStation and PC, it is a PC wheel for this game.

What partial support means

Partial is the word that matters most on this list. Playground's own definition: force feedback can be working while the button mappings are missing. Every partial line on the official page carries the same note, that more support is coming in an update.

That update has not come. The list was last edited on 19 May 2026, launch day. None of the 11 FH6 release notes from 18 May to 5 October 2026 adds a wheel or changes a support level. So MOZA, the T598 and T128, Turtle Beach and the Nacon RS Pure are still where they were at launch.

On a partial wheel, plan to map the buttons yourself under Settings, Controls. If I were buying a wheel today for this one game, I would pick a plain "Yes" on my platform.

Simagic is a special case. Its wheels are not on Playground's list at all, but Simagic added Forza Horizon 6 support, with telemetry and official presets, in SimProManager 3.0.4 on 25 May 2026. That is the manufacturer saying it works on PC, not Playground. On Xbox I could not confirm any Simagic option.

Pedals, shifters and handbrakes

The official list names wheels only, not pedals, shifters or handbrakes. It does say how the game handles them:

  • Pedals, shifters and handbrakes that plug into the wheel base are mapped with the wheel.
  • If they have their own USB cable, the game will not map them for you. You need a custom wheel profile in the controls menu.
  • The game sends force feedback to the device it registers as Device 1. If a pedal set or a shifter takes that slot, the wheel goes dead.
  • Playground recommends plugging the base directly into a USB 3.0 port on the PC, not into a hub.

On Xbox, Fanatec says its pedals, shifters and handbrakes work when they are connected to a compatible base with an Xbox rim on it. USB only Fanatec accessories, like the ClubSport USB adapter, are not recognised by the console. They are for PC.

The fixes for a wheel with no force feedback are on my wheel settings page. I do not repeat them here.

Steam and Microsoft Store

Both PC versions use the same supported list. There is one exception on it: the old Logitech Momo is legacy support and not compatible with Steam.

On Steam, if an axis is mapped wrong or inverted (gas on the brake, a handbrake that is on until you pull it), Playground's fix is to edit your wheel's file inside inputmappingprofiles.zip, in the game's media folder. I would only do that if rebinding in game fails, and I would back up the zip first.

PS5 wheel support

Forza Horizon 6 launches on PS5 on 26 January 2027, with Premium early access from 21 January. The dates and editions are on my Forza Horizon 6 PS5 page.

Wheels are a blank. The PS5 FAQ on Forza Support, updated on 8 October 2026, covers DualSense vibration and trigger effects and says nothing about steering wheels. The supported wheels article still has only Xbox and PC columns. So every PS5 box in my table says "Not announced", for every brand.

If PS5 is your only console, wait for the list before buying a wheel for this game. A G29 or T300 RS you already own works in FH6 on PC today. If you are shopping now, my best steering wheels for PS5 list covers the wheels that work across PS5 games. For Xbox, it is my best wheels for Xbox list.

I will update this page the day a PS5 wheel list is out.

FAQ

Does Forza Horizon 6 support steering wheels?

Yes, on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Logitech, Thrustmaster, Fanatec, MOZA, Turtle Beach, HORI, Nacon and Mad Catz wheels are on the official list. PS5 wheel support is not announced yet.

Does Forza Horizon 6 work with the Logitech G29?

On PC, yes. On Xbox, no. The G29 is the PlayStation and PC model. On Xbox you need the G920 or the Xbox version of the G923.

Does FH6 support MOZA wheels?

Partially. The R21, R16, R12, R9, R5 and R3 are all partial support on PC. Only the R3 is listed for Xbox, also as partial. Playground says more support is coming, but no update has added it by 5 October 2026.

Does Forza Horizon 6 support Fanatec on Xbox?

Yes, if the rim is Xbox licensed. Fanatec bases like the CSL DD, GT DD Pro and Podium work on Xbox with an Xbox rim. The ClubSport DD+ and GT DD Extreme are tested, with more support coming in an update.

Does FH6 support wheels on PS5?

Not announced. The game comes to PS5 on 26 January 2027, and Playground has not said which wheels will work there.

Does the Thrustmaster T300 RS work in Forza Horizon 6?

On PC, yes. It is not listed for Xbox, because it is a PlayStation and PC base. The TX is the Xbox version and is fully supported.

Does Forza Horizon 6 support Simagic wheels?

Not on Playground's list. Simagic added FH6 presets to SimProManager 3.0.4 on 25 May 2026, for PC.
