Looking for a complete list of controller settings for driving on iRacing?

As you can imagine, having the appropriate settings for playing on a controller will massively increase your chances of succeeding at iRacing.

Whether you’re just getting started and you wanted to test the game before going all-in with a steering wheel and pedals, racing on a controller can make so much sense.

It won’t be as quick as a high-end steering wheel but it will definitely give you the chance to race and perhaps even collect some podiums.

Can you play iRacing on a controller?

YEs, you can play iRacing on a controller even though it’s not very usual. You can configure a PS5 or Xbox One controller in the options menu and you’ll then be able to race on track.

Just remember to configure your controller steering and FFB settings though, since they’ll help you be way faster and more precise with your inputs.

Here’s a complete list of all the iRacing settings for playing on a PS5/Xbox controller:

Steering Settings

  • Wheel range = 214°
  • Map range = 360°

Brakes Settings

  • Force Factor = 0.0

Force Feedback (FFB)

  • Use linear mode = Off
  • Reduce Force When parked = ON
  • Strength = 27.4
  • Wheel Force = 3.8 Nm
  • Damping = 0%
  • Min Force = 11.2%

As you can see, there’s a ton of different iRacing controller settings that you have tweak in order to find your perfect driving experience.

We recommend that you start with the above-mentioned settings and then experiment a bit until you find something that works better for you.

Can you be fast on iRacing with controller?

It’s almost impossible you’ll be able to match Pro sim drivers with their high-end simulator rigs and steering wheels, but you can still get close to them with enough practice.
