Project Motor Racing is a racing sim from Straight4 Studios, published by GIANTS Software. It came out on 25 November 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with 70 cars, 13 classes and 28 track layouts in the base game.
I checked every number on this page on 8 October 2026, on the Steam page, the PlayStation and Xbox stores and GIANTS Software's own news posts. Where a store gives a different number, I say which store.

What you get in the base game
The store pages all use the same line: 70 cars across 13 classes and 28 global layouts. The cars are licensed and the circuits are scanned.
GIANTS names these brands in its launch announcement: Audi, BMW, Lamborghini, Mazda, Mercedes, Nissan, Porsche and Toyota, "and more". The tracks it names are Spa-Francorchamps, Daytona, Mount Panorama and the Nürburgring, with the Nordschleife.
The classes run from today's LMDh hypercars back through 50 years of racing. Update 2.0's notes mention LMDh, GT3, GT4, the Porsche 992 Cup, GT and N-GT by name.
Every car, class by class and pack by pack, is on my Project Motor Racing car list. Every circuit and layout, with lengths, is on my Project Motor Racing track list.
What the game does around the cars:
- A single player career. GIANTS calls it a survival style career where you manage sponsorships, repairs and decisions that carry through the season.
- Ranked online racing, plus social events.
- A race format with four classes on track at once.
- Dynamic weather, a 24 hour day and night cycle and a drying line. The studio calls the track surface model True2Track.
- A physics engine that GIANTS says runs at 720 Hz.

Platforms
PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version on the stores.
- PC: Windows only on Steam.
- PS5: the PlayStation Store page lists it as PS5 Pro Enhanced. Online needs PlayStation Plus.
- Xbox: the Xbox store page lists Series X|S and cloud play if you own the game, and Xbox cross-platform multiplayer.
Console players usually get the short straw with sims. Here they get the same game, and mods too.
Price
Prices in US dollars, as I found them on 8 October 2026.
| Where | List price | On 8 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Steam, base game | $39.99 | $19.99, 50% off |
| PS5, Standard Edition | $49.99 | $24.99, 50% off, offer until 22 October 2026 |
| Xbox, Standard Edition | $49.99 | not checked beyond the list price |
| Steam, Year 1 Season Pass | $49.99 | $49.99 |
| PS5 and Xbox, Year 1 Bundle | $79.99 | $79.99 |
Two things to notice. PC is $10 cheaper than console at list price. And the Season Pass costs more than the game does on Steam, so do not buy the bundle by reflex. Buy the base game, drive it for a week, then decide.
DLC and the Year 1 Season Pass
Steam describes the Year 1 Season Pass as the Group 5 Revival Pack on day one plus four more content packs. These are the packs on Steam today.
| Pack | Released | Steam list price | What is in it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group 5 Revival Pack | 25 Nov 2025 | $4.99 | 5 cars |
| GTE Decade Pack | 25 Nov 2025 | $5.99 | 7 cars |
| Japanese Prototypes Pack | 31 Mar 2026 | $9.99 | 9 cars and Takimiya Circuit |
| GT Icons Pack | 23 Jun 2026 | $14.99 | 9 cars and Rocky Knoll Raceway |
| Aussie Rivals Pack | with update 2.1 | Free | 2 cars |
| V8 Power Pack | 15 Sep 2026 | $14.99 | 9 cars and Road Atlanta |

Class 1, the modern cars:
- 2022 Nissan Calsonic Impul Z JP1
- 2023 Honda NSX JP1
- 2024 Honda Civic JP1
- 2021 Nissan Motul Autech GT-R JP1
- 2023 Toyota GR Supra JP1
Class 2, the early 2000s cars:
- 2003 Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) JP2
- 2003 Honda NSX JP2
- 2003 Toyota Supra JP2
- 2004 Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33) JP2
GT Icons Pack
Three classes from the 1960s and early 1970s. Steam says nine cars and names these:
- GT 70: Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0, Chevrolet Corvette C3, Ford Capri RS3100
- Sports Car 67: Chaparral 2F, Ford GT40 Mk IV, Lola T70 Mk 3
- GT 60: Shelby Daytona Coupe, Jaguar E-Type Lightweight, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport
No driver aids on any of them. This is the pack I would look at first. Cars like these teach you throttle control faster than any GT3 car with ABS and traction control does.
Aussie Rivals Pack
Free. The 2013 Ford Falcon FG and the 2013 Holden Commodore VF, from the V8 Supercars of that year. GIANTS announced it with update 2.1 at the end of July 2026.
V8 Power Pack

Image: Straight4 Studios and GIANTS Software, Steam
- V8 Evo: 2023 Chevrolet Camaro AU, 2023 Ford Mustang AU
- USV8: 2022 Chevrolet Camaro, 2022 Dodge Challenger, 2022 Ford Mustang
- Historic USV8: 1971 AMC Javelin, 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302, 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
- Track: Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, two layouts
Update 2.0: what changed
Update 2.0 landed on 25 March 2026. Straight4 wrote it up on Xbox Wire. The main points:
- A completely redesigned interface, with tooltips on car setup and force feedback options.
- A revised tyre model, with handling changes to LMDh, GT3, GT4, the Porsche 992 Cup, GT and N-GT.
- Changes to braking stability, throttle response, ABS and traction control.
- Changes to force feedback and to gamepad response.
- A license points system for cleaner ranked racing, a revised anti-cheat and better handling of late joiners.
- Every class available in ranked online.
- A career restructured around winning 15 championships.
When a studio rewrites the tyre model four months after launch, read it for what it is. The launch version did not drive the way they wanted. So ignore any review or video from before 25 March 2026. It describes a different game.
Is it worth buying?
I will give you the numbers and how I would decide. I am not going to hand you a verdict on the handling from a store page.
The public score is not kind. On the PlayStation Store it sat at 2.69 stars out of 5 on the day I checked, and the complaints listed there are about physics, force feedback, AI and polish at launch. Update 2.0 went after exactly those things.
How I would decide:
- At $19.99 on Steam, with 70 cars and 28 layouts, the risk is small. Start with the car class you care about and see if it holds you.
- On console, mods are the argument. If that matters to you, this is the sim that has them.
- If you are comparing it with other sims that mix road, GT and prototype cars, my Automobilista 2 review and my Assetto Corsa EVO page cover two of them.

PC requirements
From the Steam page.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10, 64 bit | Windows 11, 64 bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5, 12 threads | Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7, 12 threads |
| Memory | 16 GB | 24 GB |
| Graphics | NVIDIA RTX 2060 or AMD RX 580, 6 GB VRAM | NVIDIA RTX 3070 or AMD RX 6800, 8 GB VRAM |
| DirectX | 12 | 12 |
| Storage | 75 GB | 75 GB |
24 GB of memory on the recommended line is unusual. If you are on 16 GB, expect to be at the minimum spec, not above it. If you are building a machine for sims, see my best sim racing PC page.
Wheels and force feedback
The wheel makers treat it as a supported title. Logitech publishes RS50 values for it, which are in my Logitech RS50 settings by game table, and Fanatec lists it for FullForce, which I explain in my Fanatec FullForce settings guide.
Update 2.0 added tooltips to the force feedback options in the game. Read them before you copy numbers from anyone, me included.
