Barcelona is a tyre track. The car that looks after its front left wins here.
So it is no surprise which car is the reference. The Ferrari 296 GT3, the one known for being kind on its tyres, is 8 kg clear of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 and 13 kg clear of the Porsche 992 GT3 R.
All three come in the same pack. If you own the 2023 GT World Challenge Pack, you own the whole Barcelona podium.
The lap itself, corner by corner, is in my Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya track guide. If setups are new to you, read the ACC setup guide first. The car choice matters less than getting the pressures right.
The best cars at Barcelona: the short answer
| Car | Full Grip BoP | Layout | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ferrari 296 GT3 | 0 kg (reference) | Mid engine | 2023 GT World Challenge Pack |
| Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 | -8 kg | Mid engine | 2023 GT World Challenge Pack |
| Porsche 992 GT3 R | -13 kg | Rear engine | 2023 GT World Challenge Pack |
| Ford Mustang GT3 | -14 kg | Front engine | Free update |
| Bentley Continental GT3 | -19 kg | Front engine | Base game |
The numbers come from Full Grip Motorsport's BoP for Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, read on 5 October 2026. It is a league balance built from hotlap pace, not the official one in the game.
It works with ballast. The quickest car at each track is the reference at 0 kg. Every other car runs lighter to keep up. The more weight a car has taken off, the further it is from the pace there. I only show their top five. The full table is on their site.
Eight kilos to second and thirteen to third. For this data that is a clear lead. Barcelona is a Ferrari track.
1. Ferrari 296 GT3

Barcelona is long corners. Turn 3 is a right hander that seems to go on for ever. Turn 4 follows straight after. Campsa is fast and blind over a crest. All of them load the front left tyre for seconds at a time.
The 296 has a front end that bites and a balance that stays neutral when the corner keeps going. You are not fighting understeer, so you are not scrubbing the tyre.
It is also the friendliest of the fast cars. Barcelona is where most people test, and it is a good place to learn this car.
2. Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2

The Huracan is agile and strong in fast corners, and Barcelona has plenty. It is quick through turn 3 and Campsa.
It is a bit more nervous at the rear than the Ferrari, and you feel it in the slow last sector where you need traction. On one lap it is close. Over a stint the Ferrari is easier.
3. Porsche 992 GT3 R

Coach Dave's drivers name Barcelona as a Porsche track and you can see why in the last sector. It is slow, it is all traction, and nothing puts power down like a car with the engine over the rear wheels.
It also brakes very late into turn 1 and turn 10. The long fast corners are where it gives time back, because the front is light.
Other cars that work at Barcelona
- Ford Mustang GT3 (-14 kg). One kilo behind the Porsche. Fast on the main straight, which is one of the longest in the base game, and stable in the fast corners. Free, and never a bad choice.
- Bentley Continental GT3 (-19 kg). A big base game car that is calm in the long fast corners. It is heavy in the slow final sector, but it is better here than most people expect.
- Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II (-23 kg). Quick in turn 3 and Campsa. It sits level with the BMW and the McLaren in the data, 23 kg back, so there is nothing between those three.
What Barcelona rewards
A front end that does not give up, and traction at the end of the lap.
The first two sectors are medium and high speed. Turn 3, turn 4, Campsa. In all of them the car wants to push wide, and every time it does the front left gets hotter. A car that holds its line without extra steering saves the tyre and gains the time.
Then the lap changes. The last sector is slow, and it comes when the tyres are already hot. Rear traction decides it.
So you need a car that is good at two different things. That is why the nimble mid engine cars lead here, with the Porsche close behind on traction alone.
Watch the tyre temperatures. If the front left is far hotter than the other three, your problem is the setup or your steering, not the car.
What the pro drivers say
Coach Dave Academy asked its pro drivers to rank the GT3 cars in April 2026. They put the Ford Mustang GT3 first everywhere and they name the Porsche 992 GT3 R as one of the cars to pick for Barcelona.
Full Grip's numbers say the same thing. The Porsche 992 sits third in their table here at -13 kg. When a pro driver ranking and a hotlap based balance agree, I would trust it.
The best car for beginners at Barcelona
The Ferrari 296 GT3. It is the fastest car here and the easiest of the top three. That does not happen often.
If you do not own the pack, take the Ford Mustang GT3. It is free, it is stable and it is fourth in the data.
Sprint races and endurance races
In a sprint race the main straight matters. It is long and it ends in the best passing place on the track, turn 1. The Mustang is strong there if you have to fight through traffic.
In a long race it is all about the front left. Barcelona wears it more than most tracks. The Ferrari is the car I would take, and I would drive the first laps of every stint below the limit in turn 3. The time you give away there comes back at the end of the stint.
Pick the car you know
Barcelona shows you how tidy your driving is. A smooth driver in the fourth best car beats a rough one in the Ferrari by the end of a stint. If you are still choosing, I go through the whole class in the fastest GT3 cars in ACC and through the way I would decide in how to choose a car in ACC.

FAQ
What is the fastest car at Barcelona in ACC?
In Full Grip Motorsport's track by track BoP, read on 5 October 2026, it is the Ferrari 296 GT3, with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 next at -8 kg. That is league data built from hotlap pace, not an official ranking.
Is the Ford Mustang GT3 the best car at Barcelona?
Not in Full Grip's data. It sits fourth here at -14 kg. Coach Dave's pro drivers still rate it the fastest GT3 car across the game, so it is never a bad choice. It is just not the standout at Barcelona.
What is the best car for beginners at Barcelona?
The Ferrari 296 GT3. It is the reference car here and also the friendliest of the fast cars. Without the 2023 GT World Challenge Pack, take the free Ford Mustang GT3.
Why is tyre wear so high at Barcelona in ACC?
The long right handers, turn 3, turn 4 and Campsa, load the front left for a long time. Any understeer makes it worse. A neutral car and smooth steering are the fix.
Which free car is best at Barcelona in ACC?
The Ford Mustang GT3. It is fourth in Full Grip's data at -14 kg, ahead of the BMW M4 GT3 and the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, which are both at -23 kg.
Do I need DLC to race at Barcelona?
No. It is one of the eleven tracks of the base game.
Does the balance of performance change from track to track?
Yes. ACC uses a different balance for each circuit, which is why the fastest car is not the same everywhere. Leagues such as Full Grip Motorsport and Low Fuel Motorsport can run their own custom BoP on top of that.
