At Spa one car is clear of the rest. The Ford Mustang GT3.
On most ACC tracks the top cars are a few kilos apart. Here the Mustang is 16 kg ahead of the next one in the data I trust most. That is the biggest gap of any circuit I looked at.
It is also a free car. So at Spa the fastest choice costs you nothing.
The lap itself, corner by corner, is in my Spa-Francorchamps track guide. If setups are new to you, read the ACC setup guide first. The car choice matters less than getting the pressures right.
The best cars at Spa: the short answer
| Car | Full Grip BoP | Layout | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ford Mustang GT3 | 0 kg (reference) | Front engine | Free update |
| McLaren 720S GT3 Evo | -16 kg | Mid engine | Free update |
| Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 | -16 kg | Front engine | Base game |
| BMW M4 GT3 | -19 kg | Front engine | Free update |
| Ferrari 296 GT3 | -19 kg | Mid engine | 2023 GT World Challenge Pack |
The numbers come from Full Grip Motorsport's BoP for Spa-Francorchamps, read on 5 October 2026. It is a league balance built from hotlap pace, not the official one in the game.
It works with ballast. The quickest car at each track is the reference at 0 kg. Every other car runs lighter to keep up. The more weight a car has taken off, the further it is from the pace there. I only show their top five. The full table is on their site.
Look at the gap between first and second. Then look at how close second to fifth are. Behind the Mustang, Spa is wide open.
1. Ford Mustang GT3

Spa is seven kilometres with two very long full throttle sections. From La Source you are flat through Eau Rouge and Raidillon and all the way up the Kemmel straight. Then again from Stavelot through Blanchimont to the Bus Stop.
A car that is quick in a straight line and stable in fast corners gains twice here. That is the Mustang. Front engine, big V8, calm at high speed.
The price is fuel. Coach Dave's drivers put its fuel use about 10% above the other cars. On a lap this long you feel it in the pit window.
2. McLaren 720S GT3 Evo

The McLaren has the most downforce in the class. Spa's middle sector is where that pays: Pouhon, Fagnes, Stavelot. Fast, loaded corners where the car with the most grip carries the most speed.
It gives some of that back on the straights. And it asks more of the tyres over a stint. For qualifying and sprint races it is a very good Spa car.
3. Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3

The surprise in the table. The GT-R is an old car in the base game and most people skip it.
It is heavy and it pushes in slow corners. Spa only has two of those, La Source and the Bus Stop. Everywhere else its straight line speed carries it. If you own nothing but the base game, try it here.
Other cars that work at Spa
- BMW M4 GT3 (-19 kg). Stable, forgiving and free. The M4 is easy to trust through Pouhon and Blanchimont, and that trust is lap time at Spa. It is not the quickest, but it is the one I would give to someone who keeps spinning at Raidillon.
- Ferrari 296 GT3 (-19 kg). Level with the BMW in the data. The 296 turns in well and looks after its tyres, which matters in the long corners of sector two. A very good race car here even if it is not the hotlap car.
- Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II (-21 kg). Coach Dave's drivers call this a Spa car. It is strong in fast corners, but the rear moves around more than in the front engine cars. Quick in the right hands, hard work in a long race.
What Spa rewards
Two things. Speed on the straights and confidence in fast corners.
Sector one is almost all throttle. Sector three too. You set the wing for those and then you live with it in the middle sector, where Pouhon and Stavelot want all the downforce you just took off.
So the best Spa car is one that stays stable on low wing. That is why the front engine cars do well here. They do not get nervous when you trim the rear wing.
Eau Rouge and Raidillon are flat in a GT3 on a good setup. If your car is not flat there, fix that before you think about changing car.
What the pro drivers say
Coach Dave Academy asked its pro drivers to rank the GT3 cars in April 2026. They put the Ford Mustang GT3 first everywhere and they name the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II as one of the cars to pick for Spa.
Full Grip does not agree. The Audi Evo II is only sixth in their table here, at -21 kg. I do not read that as one of them being wrong. One is pro drivers judging a car over a race distance on the official balance. The other is hotlap pace turned into ballast for a league. Different questions, different answers.
The best car for beginners at Spa
The BMW M4 GT3. It is free, it is stable at high speed and it does not punish a small mistake at Raidillon or Blanchimont. At Spa a mistake in a fast corner means a wall.
The Mustang is nearly as easy and much faster. Once you are comfortable, move to it.
Sprint races and endurance races
In a sprint race take the Mustang. The straight line speed makes you hard to pass and easy to pass with.
In a long race it is closer. Spa is the home of the 24 hour race, and on a lap this long every extra litre per lap adds up. The Mustang will stop earlier or carry more fuel than a car like the Ferrari 296. Work it out with the fuel numbers from your own practice run before you decide.
If it rains, and at Spa it does, pick the car you trust. Not the fastest one.
Pick the car you know
Sixteen kilos sounds like a lot. Over a seven kilometre lap it is a few tenths. A driver who knows their car will beat a faster car driven by someone still learning it. If you are still choosing, I go through the whole class in the fastest GT3 cars in ACC and through the way I would decide in how to choose a car in ACC.

FAQ
What is the fastest car at Spa in ACC?
In Full Grip Motorsport's track by track BoP, read on 5 October 2026, it is the Ford Mustang GT3, with the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo next at -16 kg. That is league data built from hotlap pace, not an official ranking.
Is the Ford Mustang GT3 the best car at Spa?
Yes, in this data. It is the reference car at Spa, and Coach Dave's pro drivers rate it the fastest GT3 car in the game overall. It is also a free update.
What is the best car for beginners at Spa?
The BMW M4 GT3. It is a free update, it is stable in Spa's fast corners and it forgives small mistakes. When you are comfortable, the Mustang is the faster step up.
Is Eau Rouge flat in a GT3 car in ACC?
Yes, on a sensible setup and with tyres up to pressure. If you have to lift, look at ride height and rear wing first. Changing car will not fix it.
Which car is best for the Spa 24 Hours in ACC?
I would look at the Ferrari 296 GT3 or the BMW M4 GT3 before the Mustang. Both are kind to drive for hours, and the Mustang's fuel use is about 10% higher according to Coach Dave's drivers.
Do I need DLC to race at Spa?
No. It is one of the eleven tracks of the base game.
Does the balance of performance change from track to track?
Yes. ACC uses a different balance for each circuit, which is why the fastest car is not the same everywhere. Leagues such as Full Grip Motorsport and Low Fuel Motorsport can run their own custom BoP on top of that.
