Is There an F1 26 Game? Release Date, Price and F1 27

No, there is no F1 26 game. EA and Codemasters skipped the 2026 release and put the 2026 season into F1 25 as a paid add-on, the 2026 Season Pack, which came out on 3 June 2026. The next full game is F1 27, planned for 2027, and EA has not given it a date yet.

So if you search the stores for "F1 26", you will not find it. What you buy is F1 25 plus the 2026 Season Pack, or the 2026 Season Edition that bundles both.

Checked on 15 October 2026 against EA's F1 site and the 2026 Season Pack page on ea.com, EA's news posts from 18 November 2025 to 18 September 2026, the Formula1.com launch article of 3 June 2026, and press coverage of the announcements. Prices are EA's suggested retail prices as reported at the reveal. Where something is a press report and not an EA statement, I say so.

Why there is no F1 26

On 18 November 2025 EA and Codemasters announced that there would be no new F1 game in 2026. It was the first year without a new official F1 game from Codemasters since 2009.

EA called the 2026 content a "premium content update" for F1 25, paid and sold separately. The plan was to match the 2026 rule change in the real sport: new cars, new regulations, new teams and new drivers. At the time EA gave no price and no date.

The reason EA gave was time. Skipping a full release gives the studio a longer run at the 2027 game, which Codemasters describes as a reimagined F1 game. Lee Mather, senior creative director at Codemasters, called it a multi-year plan.

From the driver's seat, it makes sense. The 2026 cars are a new formula. Smaller, lighter, active aero, a different way of deploying energy. Building a whole new game around rules that nobody had raced yet, on a one-year cycle, is a big ask. Patching them into a game that already works is the safer move.

F1 25 2026 Season Pack release date

The Season Pack is on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (EA app, Steam and Epic). There is no PS4 or Xbox One version, because F1 25 itself was current generation only.

How much the 2026 Season Pack costs

These are EA's suggested prices as reported when the pack was revealed in May 2026. Stores run their own discounts, so check yours before you buy.

In US dollars the Season Edition lists at $49.99 on the PlayStation Store. On the EA app the pack has been discounted to $19.99 at times.

If you already own F1 25, buy the pack alone. If you do not, the Season Edition is the cheaper way in than buying the two separately.

What the 2026 Season Pack adds

What EA and Formula1.com confirm:

• The 2026 cars and rules. Lighter, smaller cars with active aerodynamics.
• Overtake Mode and Boost Mode. These replace the old DRS logic, with new assist options for pad and wheel players.
• Audi and Cadillac. The grid goes to 11 teams. Cadillac runs Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez. Press coverage lists Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg at Audi.
• 2026 driver line ups. Isack Hadjar at Red Bull and Arvid Lindblad at Racing Bulls, among the changes.
• Madring. The new Madrid circuit, released about 100 days before the real race in September. It is the first new track in the series since 2023.
• My Team. It comes back with your team as the 12th entry.
• F2 2026. Added later, in the September update.

The limits you should know before buying

EA's own store page lists these, and they matter:

• Madring is 2026 cars only. You cannot take a 2025 car there.
• Your 2025 career does not carry over. Custom teams and career saves from the 2025 season stay in 2025.
• Konnersport and APXGP (the fictional teams from Braking Point and the F1 movie) cannot be added to 2026 Driver Career or My Team.
• Not every car was final at launch. EA said some final car models would arrive in a post-launch update. Patch v1.24 brought an updated Williams, and v1.25 updated more teams to match their real cars.
• You need an internet connection and all game updates for the 2026 content and the F2 2026 season.

One review, from SportsGamerOnline, reported that the 2026 content does not support F1 World online content. EA's store page does not say this either way, so treat it as a reviewer's finding.

Reviews were mixed. SportsGamerOnline scored it 7 out of 10 and liked the new cars and active aero, but said career mode barely changed. Traxion called it one for completionists. My honest read: if you race online or want the 2026 cars on your wheel, it is worth it. If you mainly play a long career, there is not much new for you.

Setups and wheel settings for the 2026 cars

This is the part where most people get caught out. The 2026 cars need their own setups. A 2025 setup on a 2026 car will be off, because the cars run much more front wing than rear and the brake bias sits further forward, at 56 or 57%.

The force feedback did not change with the pack, so your F1 25 wheel settings still apply. On a pad, start from my F1 25 controller settings. Overtake Mode gives you something new to think about on the straights, so I would map it to a button you can reach without moving your hands off the rim.

What we know about F1 27

EA confirms that F1 27 is the next full game in the series and that it is coming in 2027. Codemasters says it will look, feel and play differently, with more gameplay choices, and that it is working with Formula One Management and the teams on it.

That is all that is official. As of 15 October 2026:

• No release date. The F1 games usually launch between late May and July, but EA has not said when F1 27 comes out.
• No platforms. EA has not listed them. Press headlines about an Xbox launch are not backed by an EA platform list.
• No price or editions.
• No reveal trailer. EA's F1 site still leads with F1 25 and the Season Pack.

There are press reports that Codemasters showed a path traced prototype of F1 25 on its EGO engine at GDC, and outlets have linked that to F1 27. That is speculation, not an announced feature.

The licence is also not fully public. Codemasters' F1 licence was due to end with 2025, with an option for two more years. EA talks about a multi-year plan with Formula One Management, but the exact term of the deal has not been published.
