Forza Horizon 6 released on 19 May 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PS5 version has no date yet. Playground Games says it is coming in 2026, and that is all anybody outside the studio knows today.
I checked every source again on 4 October 2026. This page gets updated the day a PS5 date is announced.

When is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5?
In 2026, if Playground keeps its word. No day, no month.
Here is the full trail of what has been said, in order:
- 22 January 2026, Xbox Developer Direct. Playground's design director Torben Ellert told PlayStation players they would be welcomed to Japan later in the year, when the PlayStation version is ready.
- 21 May 2026, two days after launch. Production director Mike Bennett was asked if the PS5 version was still happening and answered yes, later this year.
- 7 September 2026, the Series 5 update post on forza.net. Same line again: releasing on PS5 later this year, add it to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store.
The PlayStation Store page is live. It shows the release date as to be determined, and there is no pre-order button.
So the official position has not moved since January. That is good and bad. Good, because nobody at the studio has walked it back. Bad, because we are in October and a game that ships before Christmas normally has a date by now.
Could the PS5 version slip to 2027?
It could. There is one public reason to think so, and it is a rumour.
Tom Warren of The Verge said he expects the port to be pushed into 2027. Push Square and NME both reported that in September. Playground's September post came after it and repeated 2026.
My read: I would not plan a purchase around a 2026 date until there is a day on the calendar. Three months is not a lot of room for an announcement, pre-orders and a launch. If you only have a PS5, keep the wishlist on and do not buy a wheel for this game yet.
How long did Forza Horizon 5 take to reach PS5?
1,267 days. Almost three and a half years.
Forza Horizon 5 launched on Xbox and PC on 9 November 2021. It arrived on PS5 on 29 April 2025, with early access for the Premium Edition from 25 April. Panic Button did that port.
Forza Horizon 6 is a different case. The PS5 version was announced before the Xbox launch, and it is 138 days late as of today. If it lands on the last day of 2026, the gap is 226 days.
Nobody has confirmed who is building the FH6 port.
Editions and prices
These are the US launch prices on Xbox and PC. PS5 prices have not been announced.
| Edition | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $69.99 | The game, more than 550 cars at launch |
| Deluxe | $99.99 | Game, Car Pass (30 cars, one per week), Welcome Pack |
| Premium | $119.99 | Everything above, VIP membership, two car packs, two expansions. It also had the four days of early access |
| Premium Upgrade | $59.99 | Premium content on top of a Standard copy or Game Pass |
Is Premium worth it now that early access is over? Only if you want both expansions. If you play on Game Pass, the Premium Upgrade is the sensible route. If you are not sure, buy Standard and wait for the first expansion to be shown.
What you get on day one
- Japan. A fictional version of it, with Tokyo as the main city. Playground says the Tokyo area is five times larger than the urban areas of earlier Horizon maps.
- More than 550 cars at launch.
- Seasons, with cherry blossom in spring and snow in winter.
- The wristband progression from the early Horizon games is back.
- The Eliminator, now with 72 players.
Reviews were strong. It sits at 90 on Metacritic on both PC and Xbox Series X|S.
Should you wait for PS5 or play now?
If you have a PC that runs Forza Horizon 5 well, I would not wait. The Steam version is out, and it is on PC Game Pass if you want to try it before paying full price.
If PS5 is your only machine, wait. And use the time. Forza Horizon 5 is on PS5 already. It is the same series from the same studio, so the habits you build there carry over. Start with my FH5 controller settings, and if you are on a wheel, the Logitech G29 and G920 settings or the Fanatec settings.
One wheel note for FH6 itself. The Logitech RS50 runs in native RS mode in Forza Horizon 6, which is not the case in FH5 on PC. The full table is in my RS50 settings by game.
