Gran Turismo 7 works with the steering wheels on Polyphony Digital's official list: the Thrustmaster T-GT, T-GT II, T248, T300RS, T500RS (PS4 only), T150, T80 and T598, the Logitech G PRO, G29 and G923, the Fanatec CSL Elite, GT DD Pro / Extreme and Podium, and the MOZA R5S Pro. That is 15 wheels. A few more work because the maker says so, like the Logitech RS50. And plenty of popular wheels do not work at all, because GT7 is a PlayStation game and the base needs a PlayStation licence.

Checked on 15 October 2026 against the "Steering Wheel Controllers" and "PlayStation VR2" pages of the Gran Turismo 7 Online Manual on gran-turismo.com, the Logitech G, Thrustmaster and Fanatec official US product pages, Logitech's RS50 in-game settings article, Thrustmaster's T-GT III page, Fanatec's GT DD Extreme guide and MOZA's Tokyo Game Show news post of 17 September 2026. Prices are US list prices on that day, before tax, and match my best PS5 wheels ranking. I have not tested every wheel on this list for this update.

What wheels are compatible with GT7?

Polyphony publishes the list in the GT7 Online Manual, under Basic Controls, Steering Wheel Controllers. This is the full list as it stood on 15 October 2026, in Polyphony's own order:

BrandWheel on Polyphony's listNote from the manual
ThrustmasterT-GT
ThrustmasterT-GT II
ThrustmasterT248"Operating as a T-GT-compatible controller"
ThrustmasterT300RS
ThrustmasterT500RS"PlayStation 4 system only"

ThrustmasterT598
LogitechG PRO Racing Wheel
LogitechG29 Driving Force
LogitechG923 Racing Wheel
FanatecCSL Elite Racing Wheel
FanatecGT DD Pro / Extreme
FanatecPodium
MOZAR5S Pro Racing Simulator

The manual says all of them are set up from the GT Menu, Options, Controllers. No other brand appears.

Two things that list does not tell you. It does not say which wheels are still on sale, and it does not include every wheel that works. So below I go brand by brand with what the makers themselves publish.

Officially licensed for GT7 vs merely compatible

There are three levels here, and they matter when you pay.

  1. Licensed for Gran Turismo. The maker has a Gran Turismo licence on the product, with a GT rim and buttons laid out for the game. Today that is the Thrustmaster T-GT II ("officially licensed for both PlayStation 5 and Gran Turismo"), the coming Thrustmaster T-GT III and the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro and DD Extreme. MOZA says it is developing a wheel with native GT7 support with Polyphony.
  2. On Polyphony's supported list. Polyphony has added the wheel to the manual. Every licensed GT wheel is here, plus the generic PlayStation wheels like the G29 and T300RS.
  3. PlayStation licensed, maker says it works in GT7. Not in the manual, but the maker publishes GT7 support. The Logitech RS50 and the Fanatec ClubSport DD+ sit here.

Anything outside those three, do not buy it for GT7.

Logitech wheels for GT7

G29 Driving ForceYesGear, 2.3 Nm$299.99
G923 Racing WheelYesGear, TRUEFORCE, 2.3 Nm$299.99

PRO Racing WheelYesDirect drive, 11 Nm$999.99 to $1,199.99

The G29 is still the cheapest way into GT7 with a proper wheel. Pedals in the box, PlayStation and PC.

The G923 works too, but buy the PlayStation version. Logitech sells separate PlayStation and Xbox boxes. In March 2023 Polyphony posted a compatibility notice for the G923: PS4 system software 10.50 and PS5 system software 23.01-07.00.00 fixed connection problems, and in GT7 its force feedback runs through the TRUEFORCE function. If the vibration feels too loud, Polyphony points you to Options, Controllers, Vibration Function.

The RS50 is not in Polyphony's manual. But Logitech's own RS50 in-game settings article has a Gran Turismo 7 row for PS5, with the base in RS mode. So Logitech supports it, and I count it as compatible. Pick the "PS/PC" option on the page, and budget for pedals, because the RS50 System has none. My RS50 settings by game page has the detail.

The PRO Racing Wheel is on Polyphony's list. Choose the "PlayStation/PC" option on Logitech's page. Logitech shows one price range for the RS50 and PRO and does not tie a price to each platform, so check the PlayStation version in the basket.

For settings, see Gran Turismo 7 Logitech settings.

Thrustmaster wheels for GT7

Thrustmaster has the most wheels on the list, eight, and a ninth on the way.

T-GT IIINot yet, on sale 3 December 2026$749.99

The T80 is Thrustmaster's entry wheel. It is on the list, but retailer listings describe its centring as a bungee cord, not a force feedback motor. In GT7 the feel of the front tyres is the main thing a wheel gives you, so check that line on the box before you buy one for this game.

The T248 is listed with an odd note: it runs in GT7 as a T-GT compatible controller. Thrustmaster calls it a hybrid system and lists it for PC, PS4 and PS5. For $30 more than a G29 you get magnetic pedals and a screen on the rim.

The T500RS is PS4 only in GT7, per the manual. If you are moving to a PS5, it stays behind.

The T598 is the newest Thrustmaster on the list and the cheapest direct drive I can point you to for GT7: 5 Nm plus overshoot, pedals in the box, $599.99. My T598 review covers it.

The T-GT II is the licensed GT wheel: brushless belt drive, T3PA GT II pedals, $799.99. More in my Thrustmaster T-GT II page.

Thrustmaster T-GT III: coming 3 December 2026

Thrustmaster's page calls the T-GT III "an Officially Licensed Gran Turismo 7 Steering Wheel for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles". The numbers it publishes:

  • Direct axial drive, 5 Nm constant torque, overshoot up to 10 Nm
  • A load cell pedal set in the box
  • Four rotary encoders "directly mapped for Gran Turismo"
  • GT7 haptic effects called GEAR JOLT (you feel each shift) and ENGINE ROAR (the chassis resonates with RPM)
  • Software and firmware updates planned to follow GT's SPEC updates
  • $749.99, on sale from 3 December 2026

It is not in Polyphony's manual yet, which is normal for a wheel that is not on sale. If GT7 is your main game and you can wait seven weeks, I would wait for it. I have not tested one. Full detail in my T-GT III page.

Fanatec wheels for GT7

Fanatec is where most buying mistakes happen, because only some of its bases are PlayStation licensed.

PodiumOn Polyphony's listNot checked
CSL Elite Racing WheelOn Polyphony's list, discontinued per FanatecNot sold
CSL DDNot compatible with any PlayStation

The GT DD Pro bundle is the Fanatec built around GT7: 8 Nm direct drive and CSL Pedals in the box. My GT DD Pro review has the detail.

The GT DD Extreme is the bigger version. Fanatec's guide says it is built on the ClubSport DD+ base, calls the base "officially licensed for PlayStation 5 consoles and PlayStation 4 consoles", and calls the wheel "tailor-made for Gran Turismo".

The ClubSport DD+ on its own is not named in the manual, but it is the same PlayStation licensed base as in the DD Extreme. Fanatec sells it base only, so budget for a rim and pedals.

The Podium line is on the list as "Podium", with no model named. Before you buy a used one, check it is the PlayStation version.

The CSL DD is the trap. Fanatec's product page says it "is not compatible with any PlayStation console and cannot be upgraded to achieve compatibility." Fanatec rims and pedals only work on PlayStation through a licensed Fanatec base. More in my CSL DD review, which is a PC story.

For settings, see Gran Turismo 7 Fanatec settings.

MOZA wheels for GT7

This is the one that changed most since the old version of this page. MOZA was PC and Xbox only.

At Tokyo Game Show on 17 September 2026, MOZA announced its first PS5 hardware: the R5S Pro Racing Simulator, the R16S Ultra Racing Simulator and the R16S Ultra Direct Drive Wheel Base. MOZA says the launch starts a collaboration with Polyphony Digital, that it is developing a wheel with native GT7 support, and that its PS5 lineup will support Gran Turismo 7 from launch. Price, availability and launch date will be announced "at a later stage", and press reports add that the products are subject to Sony's final approval.

Polyphony has already put the MOZA R5S Pro Racing Simulator in the GT7 manual. The R16S Ultra is not listed yet.

So today: you cannot buy a MOZA wheel for GT7. The MOZA R3, R5, R9 and R12 bases you see everywhere are PC and Xbox products and will not work on PS5.

Which wheels do not work with GT7?

  • Fanatec CSL DD, as above.
  • PC only bases. Thrustmaster lists the T818 for PC only.
  • Current MOZA bases, until the PS5 versions ship.
  • Xbox versions of wheels sold in two versions, like the Logitech G923 Xbox box.
  • The T500RS on PS5. PS4 only.

The rule is simple. Check the platform line on the maker's page, then check Polyphony's list. My PS5 sim racing setup guide and direct drive wheels for PS5 cover the rest of the rig.

Do wheels work with GT7 in PS VR2?

The GT7 manual says PS VR2 works in online and offline races, except 2P split screen, and only on PS5. GT7 does not support the PS VR2 Sense controllers. In VR the race view is limited to cockpit or bonnet view.

The manual does not publish a separate wheel list for VR, and it does not exclude any wheel from VR either. My GT7 PS VR2 page has more.

Which GT7 wheel should you buy?

My short answer, using the prices above:

  • Cheapest that is worth it: Logitech G29, $299.99, pedals included.
  • Best value direct drive for GT7: Thrustmaster T598, $599.99, pedals included.
  • GT7 first and you can wait: Thrustmaster T-GT III, $749.99, from 3 December 2026, load cell pedals included.
  • GT7 first and you want it now: Fanatec GT DD Pro bundle.
  • Already in the Logitech family: RS50 on the PS/PC option, plus pedals.

The full ranking is in best steering wheel for PS5. Once it is on the desk, set it up with my GT7 wheel and FFB settings, and pick your car from the GT7 car list.

FAQ

What wheels are compatible with Gran Turismo 7?

Polyphony's manual lists 15: Thrustmaster T-GT, T-GT II, T248, T300RS, T500RS (PS4 only), T150, T80 and T598, Logitech G PRO, G29 and G923, Fanatec CSL Elite, GT DD Pro / Extreme and Podium, and the MOZA R5S Pro. Logitech also lists GT7 settings for the RS50.

Does the Logitech RS50 work with GT7?

Yes, on the PS/PC version. It is not in Polyphony's manual, but Logitech's own RS50 in-game settings article includes Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, in RS mode.

Does the Fanatec CSL DD work with GT7?

No. Fanatec says the CSL DD "is not compatible with any PlayStation console and cannot be upgraded". On PlayStation, Fanatec sells the GT DD Pro, the GT DD Extreme and the ClubSport DD+.

Is there a MOZA wheel for GT7?

Not on sale yet. MOZA announced the R5S Pro and R16S Ultra for PS5 on 17 September 2026 with GT7 support from launch, but no price or date. Polyphony already lists the R5S Pro in the GT7 manual.

Does the Thrustmaster T-GT III work with GT7?

It is built for it. Thrustmaster calls it an officially licensed Gran Turismo 7 wheel for PS4 and PS5. It goes on sale on 3 December 2026 at $749.99.

Can I use a wheel with GT7 in PS VR2?

The manual does not give a separate VR wheel list. PS VR2 works in races on PS5, with cockpit or bonnet view, and GT7 does not support the PS VR2 Sense controllers.
