How To Increase Safety Cars on F1 2021

Have you ever been frustrated with the little number of safety cars in F1 2021? You’re not alone.

Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to increase their frequency.

In this post, we’ll go over some tips that should help you see more safety cars during your next F1 2021 races.

The reason why you’d want to increase them is because with more safety cars you’ve got more chances to score points with slower cars like Williams, Haas and Alfa Romeo.

When the cars are all close to each other you’ll be also able to choose alternative strategies and put some softer tyres to increase the chance of overtaking with DRS.

All these things increase the drama and make the races way more fun than having zero or just one safety car per race.

In addition to that, you should also know that the higher the damages realism, the more debris there will be.

This means that the safety car is more likely to come out if there are more retirements.

So, without further ado, here are some tips to increase safety cars in F1 2021.

F1 2021 Safety Car tips

Let’s have a look at the 3 different tips to increase the number of safety cars in F1 2021.

Increase safety Car frequency

One of the most important things you can do to see more safety cars is to change the safety car settings.

  • To do that, go to “Safety Car” and first make sure it’s enabled.
  • Then set “Safety car frequency” option to the highest setting.

These two changes will make the safety car come out more often.

Increase damage levels

The reason why you’ll want to increase the damages is that the more retirements and debries there are, the more likely it is that the safety car will come out to get the track cleaned.

So how do you do that?

Go to the “Damage level” options and set it very high, ideally to “Simulation” as it will result in the realistic reproduction of car damages during incidents, especially between AI cars.

That should increase the likelihood of safety cars.

In fact the AI cars crash into each other quite a lot, especially at certain tracks, but the lower the damage level the less likely it is to cause debris and damage to them, which means itโ€™s less likely the SC is deployed.

How many F1 2021 safety cars should I expect?

Safety cars happen by chance and it’s impossible to predict how many you’ll get in a given race. Though after setting the car damage to “Simulation” you’ll generally find a steep increase of safety cars during a race, especially in street circuits like Baku and Monaco.

That should allow you to see at least 1 or 2 safety cars per race, and maybe even more depending on the length of the race and the track layout.

With that in mind, you’ll be able to use alternative strategies and have more fun with your F1 2021 races.

Hope that was helpful, see you on track! ๐Ÿ™‚
