The good news first. You do not need to buy a single car to be fast in ACC.
The quickest GT3 car in the game came as a free update. Two of the others near the top did too. So this page is less about which car to buy and more about which packs are worth your money, and in what order.
Everything here was checked on 5 October 2026 against version 1.10.4, the final version of the game. I am not quoting prices because they change with every sale. The packs go on offer often, so check the store before you pay full price.

The best free cars
Three GT3 cars were added to the base game in free updates:
- Ford Mustang GT3. The fastest car on the final balance of performance. Front engine, stable, quick everywhere.
- McLaren 720S GT3 Evo. The most downforce in the class. A qualifying and sprint car.
- BMW M4 GT3. Not the quickest, but one of the easiest GT3 cars to drive. A very good first car.
On top of those you have the 22 GT3 cars of the base game. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is in there, and it is one of the best cars to learn in.

1. 2023 GT World Challenge Pack
This is the one I would buy first. You get three of the newest GT3 cars and a track.
The Ferrari 296 GT3 is the pick of them. It is fast, forgiving and easy on its tyres, which makes it the best endurance car in the game and a great car for a new driver.
The Porsche 992 GT3 R is the specialist. Rear engine, huge traction, very quick at tracks like Suzuka and Imola, and a car that teaches you a lot. The Huracan GT3 EVO2 is good on fast tracks.
Valencia comes with it.
2. 2020 GT World Challenge Pack
Two cars and Imola. The car you are buying it for is the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, second on pace and the best all-rounder in the class. It rides kerbs better than almost anything.
The Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo is in the pack as well. It has been overtaken by the 296.
Imola alone is a reason to own this pack. It comes up all the time in online races.
3. GT4 Pack
All 11 GT4 cars and nothing else. No GT4 car is in the base game.
Buy it if you want to race GT4. The racing is close and the cars are a good school, because with so little downforce you cannot hide a bad exit. If you only ever race GT3, you can skip it. Which car to pick is in the fastest GT4 cars in ACC.
4. Challengers Pack
Five cars: the Audi R8 LMS Evo II for GT3, plus the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo, the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) and the BMW M2 CS Racing.
The Audi is strong at Spa, Monza, Silverstone and Bathurst. The cup cars are fun, but there are few online races for them. Buy this one for the Audi or leave it.
5. GT2 Pack
Six GT2 cars and the Red Bull Ring. The cars have more power and less downforce than GT3 and they are great to drive, but GT3 is where the grids are. I would buy this pack for the track. The cars are in the ACC GT2 cars list.
Track packs matter more than car packs
This is the part most buying guides skip. If you race online, the track packs come first.
A car pack gives you more choice. A track pack decides whether you can join the race at all. If the server is at Suzuka and you do not own the Intercontinental GT Pack, you are not racing that night.
So if you plan to race on a ranked service or in a league, look at its calendar before you buy any car. The full list of circuits and the pack each one needs is in the ACC tracks list.
What I would do
- Just bought the game: buy nothing. Drive the Mustang, the M4 or the Aston Martin.
- Racing online every week: track packs first, then the 2023 GT World Challenge Pack.
- Want the best all-rounder: the 2020 pack, for the AMG and for Imola.
- Bored of GT3: the GT4 Pack.
